But I'm just saying that these little snot-nosed tiny humans are great vectors of connecting adults. Brooke may get a second husband. Good for you. We're all excited about that. And I don't know exactly how it happened with our listener, but according to their email, that's how she got matched up with a man. You got your third grader to do some matchmaking for you? Let's figure it out.

Chapter 4: What did Coco panic about during her conversation with Corey?
So, I mean, I'm a single mom. I'm a mother to like a seven-year-old daughter. And she keeps annoying me with wanting a sister. Okay, well, why don't you just go to the sister store and go buy one? She could have just wanted a dog instead, but I don't know.
Anyway, but this little daughter of mine decided that she was going to write my number on multiple sheets of paper and hand it out to her friends so they can give it to their dad's. Oh. Wait, she was actually playing matchmaker? What a little genius. She absolutely was. She's really dead on having a sister, so. Oh, my God. Hey, take initiative. She's a smart cookie. Want to go get her.
Wow, did she even know that she was doing this? No, not a clue. And the thing is, it's so innocent. Like, I mean, it's true that you didn't know. Like, even if you get embarrassed, who cares? Everybody thinks a seven-year-old doing this is adorable. And it's actually brilliant because even if you did meet somebody, if you don't like them, you can say, oh, my God, she's doing this on her own.
I'm so embarrassed. It's easy rejection. It's way better than Brooke writing her own phone number in the men's restroom at the school. That's just classic. She doesn't even put her name. It just says, hey, boys. You guys are so stupid. Okay, so your daughter's handing out your phone number to her friends saying to give it to their dads if they're single.
Chapter 5: What misunderstandings arose from Coco's daughter's comments?
Kind of like handing them out like baseball cards or something like that. I am dead. Okay. So wait, how many calls did you get about this? Zero. Zero. Zero. Not a lot of single dads. Wait a minute. Yeah, no. They probably thought it was weird that my number would just be passed around. So they threw it away. You know, they put it in their pocket. They forgot it was there.
So how does this turn into meeting someone then? So a few days later, she's like, guess what, mom? We're going to the dog park. You don't have a dog, though. You already told us that. Yes, I don't have a dog. But she told me that her friend was going to be there with her dad and that she wanted for us to meet them. And it was more of a play date situation.
And, you know, this man had no idea that this was happening. But I do meet him and my daughter jumps out of the car. She runs to her friend and I meet her dad. Her dad's name is Corey. Okay. Wait, what were your thoughts on Corey? First look and? He looks like a typical dad, you know, but he's funny.
Chapter 6: How did Corey react to the rumors about Coco wanting another baby?
Average dad.
Is that a compliment? I can't tell. Do you think the average dad at schools are hot, Brooke? There you go. That's what he looked like.
Did you look at your daughter and explain to her you want better?
Okay, so tell us about did you interact with Corey? Like, how does that go? Yeah, so he tries to make conversation and then asks me which one is my dog. Oh, no. And that's when I panicked. Point to the kid, quick. Make him laugh. What'd you say? I said it was the black one in the corner. Why did you lie? She said she panicked. I panicked. Oh, no. It was like in the moment.
It was such an easy truth, though. Like, oh, my God, my daughter knew your daughter was going to be here and they wanted to play. Oh, that's good, Brooke. I wish I would have come up with something like that, but in the moment, I didn't think of it. I was like, yeah, the black one over there. Okay. Oh, that could have gone smooth. Brooke was right with her example.
I mean, at least you have a dog.

Chapter 7: What are the implications of Coco's dating experience with Corey?
Well, then like 30 seconds later, some lady puts a leash on that dog. Oh, no. They're not there alone. That's my dog walker I hired. Brooke, you are good at this. Take him to my car. It gets worse because then he's like, hey, someone's trying to steal your dog. I didn't think of that. That's what I would say. I'd be like, what the hell's going on? Someone's walking away with your pet.
You're like, I didn't mean that. This is so funny. Then what do you say? I said it was my nanny. Oh, no. Okay, so now you have a dog that doesn't exist and a nanny that isn't yours. Nanny that doesn't exist. Does it ever get good? Yeah. So I did ask him. I was like, hey, if you want to hang out sometime, here's my number, which I'm sure he probably already has. Thanks to my daughter. Okay.
And now it's just been eight days and I've heard nothing from him. And you guys can't see me, but I consider myself to be pretty unattractive, okay? So I don't understand why a single guy wouldn't want to go out with me. Okay. I mean, do you think maybe he didn't buy the whole nanny dog lie? I mean, he probably thought I was a psychopath.
Chapter 8: What conclusion did Coco and Corey reach about going on a date?
I don't know. Yeah. I feel terrible because I don't even know this man. We've never hung out like that, like on a date. And so, I don't know. I kind of want you guys to call him, get a read on him, and see if he likes me or not because, like, honestly, I wouldn't mind dating him for real. Okay. Are we going to come clean? Yes.
Jeffrey, we already tried faking a dog on this show once, and it didn't go well, and I don't recommend doing it again. Jose does a great dog bark. No.
Okay.
That's a little feral dog, so maybe that's a bad idea. We might have to come clean and tell Corey the truth if he picks up and let him know, like, you're just genuinely interested and think he's a nice guy. Is that the worst thing to say? Yes. I wanted to bring this full circle because it's eating me alive. No, it's not the worst thing to say.
It's not the worst thing, but, you know, I can tell you've got a lot of emotions going on over there, Coco. We'll step in and do the work for you when we come back and do your second date update single dad style right after this. Hold on.
