I receive that + Dora Kamau

During my tarot deck spreads, a question that I ask the universe often is, “how can I create space for all that I want to attract into my life?”. In this contemplation I ask, how can I open myself up more to all that I so badly want? The key to receiving what you want is just that -- receiving. In order for you to attract all that you want, you have to first signal to the universe that you are ready to receive and second that you are willing to receive. You have to tell the universe, “I receive that.” “I receive that” is the title of one of my favourite meditations on the Insight Timer by my dear friend Dora Kamau. The description of the meditation says, “this is a practice that holds space for us to affirm ourselves and be intentional with what we are choosing to fill our beings with. It’s a beautiful exchange of giving and receiving from yourself and also from others.” Opening myself up to the universe to receive is a lesson I learned from my beautiful friend Dora, among many other lessons. Dora, who is a mindfulness artist and meditation guide, chatted with me on the beauty of and importance of receiving, how to get really clear about the seeds you are planting, and how to start working towards a place where you feel deserving of all that you want to receive.
