Kevin Hambly - Stanford Volleyball Head Coach On Building A Championship Culture, Growth, & Separating Who You Are & What You Do

#110: Kevin Hambly is the Head Coach and Director of Women’s Volleyball at Stanford University. Under his leadership over the last 6 seasons, Stanford has won 2 National Championships, 4 Pac 12 Championships, and he has been named Pac 12 Coach of the Year multiple times. Kevin played Volleyball at BYU and was a first team All American and eventually played professionally after college. After playing he decided to get into coaching. He started coaching club and eventually became an assistant coach at UNLV. Coach Hambly then went and served as an assistant with the USA national volleyball team. From there he went to Illinois where he helped establish the Illini program into one of the best in the country. In 2011 he was named Volleyball Magazine National Coach of the Year and lead the team to the national semifinals for the first time in 23 years before advancing to the NCAA title match for the first time in program history. On the show he shares his story, playing and coaching volleyball, building a championship culture, separating who you are and what you do, growth, failure, and much more. Enjoy the show!
