Klaas Olsson. Welcome to the Busted Open After Dark podcast. I'm your host Tommy Dreamer. Promos and stories are the key for tonight's AEW Dynamite and I'm going to talk about it right now. This is the Busted Open Podcast. What drew me in tonight was something way different for AEW and that was a lot of the aftermaths and a lot of the promos. And I gotta say, I feel AEW is very, very hot right now. And by hot, because you listen to these crowds, and when the wrestlers are walking out, some are getting very, very big reactions. And I'm talking, and I hate to say this for AEW, superstar reactions. I say that because superstars is a WWE term, but the AEW audience really loves a lot of their performers and then their next level people that when they show up, you're like, those are our people.
Now, I'll get into kind of like in the beginning. The show opens with a Will Ospreay training with the Death Riders. Nice little training montage. Then we have Cope and Christian versus the Death Riders, and we're cheering for the Death Riders at first, Jon Moxley being his cult-like figure, and we have an excellent tag match to open the show. Cage and Cope, WWE Hall of Famers, Wrestling Hall of Famers, they were built as superstars on another platform being in the WWE and have had their careers extended as well as really upped since coming to AEW. Then we have... The aftermath. And the aftermath really drew me in because, yes, now we have the Death Riders coming out there. I'm sorry, the War Dogs.

The War Dogs and then the Bang Bang Gang. And they did an amazing job and they have done an amazing job telling stories without really telling the story on a microphone. Christian told an amazing tale. He said he doesn't trust these guys.
What was Tommy Dreamer's overall take on AEW Dynamite in Boston?
They had a great match at Collision where Christian was like, why don't you, you know, you weren't my guy. And he has an issue with Jay White. And they have all this intrigue going back and forth after everything is settled and done with Jay White and Christian and not saying a word. It's storytelling. It's body language. It's the fans chanting like, hug it out. We all want to see you all together. And Christian not trusting the guy when, by the way, none of us ever want to trust Christian. And Cope is the guy kind of leading the charge here of like, hey, man, this guy's been good to me. He was good to me in your absence. So let's get this done. And they're telling a wonderful story through the chaos.
You know, the bad guys beat up the good guys. And then here come the good guys to even the odds. And now we have turmoil. And we're waiting. And we're waiting to see what happens next. And when nothing happens next... We're going to wait until next week. And that's how you tell stories. And Christian did a great job. Cope is playing the middleman. Jay White is like, hey, man, I'm all here for it because my bang-bang gang is all together. And that group is getting over. I hope everyone stays healthy because this could be a key group for the end or the halfway point for 2026 for AEW. Now we'll get to the bigger part of the show of the promos. Kenny Omega goes out there and he's going to have his coronation.
We also have the Young Bucks come out there. Another part of storytelling, if I could just quickly backtrack. Who's watching the match with Cajun Cope in the crowd? The Young Bucks. I love that. I think we're going to get to a Cajun Cope versus the Young Bucks at Wembley, but we're still getting there.
