Hey, hey, hey, what is up everybody? I'm reunited once again with the TNA World Champion. We got Mike Santana. Mike, uh, thank you so much for taking the time to chat with me today. Uh, how are you?
I'm doing great, Denise. How are you?
I'm doing awesome, man. I just saw you last night on NXT. Con wa no, sorry, two nights ago on NXT, my bad. It's Thursday now. Uh, but uh Tuesday night you were on NXT. You were in New York, your hometown. Uh talk to us about how all of that went down.
Oh man, it was such a great time. Um As you saw like the reaction and and just like It was super like I was blown away. I was uh it was it was definitely like humbling and and just being back there. The last time I wrestled there was in twenty nineteen. Um and you know, it was there in front of my whole family and that was the last time my dad got to see me wrestle live before he passed away. So uh going back there was definitely emotional and and dealing with that, but um also validation. It was like, yo, I've now I made it back by myself and on my own and as a world champion and um Yeah, it was it I was just living in that moment, you know what I mean? Just taking everything in and one thing I've learned throughout the years is is always to uh
take a moment to yourself and take everything in and make sure that you take the time to reflect. And um I actually before the show started, I sat in the stands w on at the same seats that my dad sat at.
What was Mike’s experience returning to NXT in New York?
And uh I just sat there and had a little quick conversation with my dad and um And yeah, it was it was definitely a special moment. But overall, man, the experience is great. Anytime I've I've gone over to work with WWE and NXC, it's it's been a great time. They treat me very well. Um And uh yeah, man, it was it was it was great. The match, the audience, the exper just everything. It was top notch and um Yeah, like I I uh Um I felt that energy from the crowd and I hope I gave it right back.
How'd you uh like teaming up with OTM?
Oh they it was great. You know, like they're they're really uh good dudes. Um, you know, they're just I feel like they're just starting to get their footing with things and and they're they've been working a lot more consistently and um yeah man I I think they have a ton of potential and I think they're gonna do very well for themselves. They're two big guys that can move and um Yeah, they have a lot of passion, a lot of energy and and it was great being in there with them.
Yeah, so you know, I the last time you and I spoke was about three months ago. You had uh, you know, won the title. And since then, obviously you've done quite a bit. Uh obviously you've been feuding with Steve Macklin as of late. How have you felt about your reign now that you are, you know, a couple months in?
Uh, I think it's been good. I uh of course for me I always want more. I always wanna do more. I'm always striving for more. So um But it's also Like I I'm on the right track. I'm doing exactly what I need to do. I'm I'm exactly where I need to be. And I think it's been going great so far and um Uh I I wish that that things turned out differently with uh Macklin and I as far as our match 'cause I felt like that was gonna be like My first singles match after winning it back. Right, on on T V and stuff like that. So um it it just sucked, just the whole situation, but I'm so glad that everything is good and and everything was taken care of the way that it did. And uh I mean they was I can't say enough great things about how it was handled just from all parts, right?

And um again I'm glad that Steve is doing a lot better and Yeah. But back to the the title thing, I think it's great and been doing on TNA, I've I've maintained a f uh a full independent schedule as well. So I've been out on indies working and and, you know, being a fighting champion. So
Yeah. So one of the things I also wanted to ask you was I feel like whenever you are the champion of a top promotion, like before you even become champion, everybody has this dream, everybody has this vision of what they would be like if they were a world champion.
