This was an explosive wrestling week. A lot went down. And of course, we're going to kick things off with Friday Night Smackdown. And a lot kind of went down on that show, too. It's funny, Mark, because for a second, I thought to myself, damn, what's going to happen on this episode of Smackdown? And hey, we actually ended up getting at least three major topics out of this show. And I can't wait to get your thoughts on it. And I can't wait to get the nation's thoughts on it. But while I was sitting here thinking, where do we begin with everything? I feel it's best to begin with the match that has been added to SummerSlam. And that is CM Punk defending his undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes.
And that is officially happening at SummerSlam. Martin, where do we start?

So I'm assuming, and you know what happens sometimes when you assume, that it will be the first night main event. And Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, would be the second night main event. Ooh, Mark.
See, you know what? I don't know if it's because I'm not the person that's like the biggest. Like I was never really like a big Shield fan. So for me, I feel like this main event, to me, I think Cody versus CM Punk feels bigger than Roman versus Seth. But I might be wrong on that. I think it really depends on how everyone feels about the matches. But I would actually put Cody and CM Punk night two.
Well, my argument to that would be that with all of the things that's going on Bloodline, there's a lot of things that's going to come into play. You got Jacob Fatu. You got the Usos. You got Royce Keys. You got Solo Sokoa. Like, and all of the enemies of Sammy Zane said that he was a Bloodline member. So, like, there's... There's a lot to do.
But there's always a lot going on with the bloodline. Always and forever. So, hey, step to the side and go to night one.

Okay, look. Here's the thing, though. I got to start off with what I thought about this, all right? First of all, I think we all saw the writing on the wall. When CM Punk went out there and he cut his promo and he was mentioning all these names and he skipped past Cody Rhodes, I thought to myself, all right, buddy, come on. You all know the name that we want to hear is Cody Rhodes. And, of course, Cody goes out there. And instantly, Mark, I had this big, like, eh. kind of moment because when he went out there you saw that CM Punk had that that black eye and I thought to myself oh shit the last time that they were in the ring together for Monday Night Raw Cody Rhodes had that big shiner on his eye and so I love that immediately I think a lot of people thought about it and immediately Cody Rhodes mentioned it but
And I was excited. I like the confrontation. I'm excited for the match, but I got two big things I got to say. One, why did the matchup, the moment when they decided, hey, this is happening at SummerSlam, it felt a little unceremonious. where i thought to myself where's the heat where's the personal part of this where's the fireworks in this when are we getting this so my theory is that wwe was like bro we need to get this match on the card right here right now we're worried about the rest later so they got about what a couple of weeks until summer slap to heat this thing up okay Heat it up like a burning hot pocket because this needs to get hot, hotter than it is. These two guys have a lot of things they could say to each other.
I want it to get mean, I want it to get ugly, and I want it to get personal. I want to see diehard Cody Rhodes fans, diehard CM Punk fans fighting on the internet, being like, my favorite wrestler is better than yours, and vice versa. I need this.
I don't know how hot a Hot Pocket is because I don't think I've ever had one.
