Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Welcome to the Busted Open Podcast. This is Dave LaGreca. On today's episode, myself and Bully Ray talk Monday Night Raw. Hot show in Baltimore, starting with the bloodline, and there's a lot to get into, and ending with Obafemi as he moves on to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. Our breakdown, coming right now on the Busted Open Podcast.
this is the busted open podcast sold out crowd in baltimore if you didn't know they were in baltimore last night la night remind you not once not twice but three times during his promo we'll get to that in a little bit later on but let's get into the bloodline and what we saw with roman reigns opening up that show
long opening segment last night with the bloodline, with the Usos, with Jacob Batu, with Roman Reigns. And I loved about the acknowledgement conversation that Roman was leading in Baltimore last night saying, you know, this isn't, what are people, the bloodline has always been here.
Chapter 2: What significant events occurred at the beginning of Monday Night Raw?
You're stealing my thunder. Go ahead. Go ahead.
You're stealing my thunder, and I'm not going to allow you to steal my thunder because that was my absolute favorite part of the promo. We've been around forever. We've been here since day one. I'm not going to bore you with the recap of what we saw. We know what we saw. But when Roman started talking about Afa and Sika and Yokozuna and Rikishi,
And he started naming, it's almost like the floodgates got opened and all the memories come rushing back. This is not about the modern day bloodline. This is about the bloodline period. We have been here from day one. And the Anoa'i family pronunciation has been the number one family in the WWE that's not named McMahon.
That Samoan dynasty has been going on forever, and we got reminded of it last year. And in one moment in time, the bloodline became even bigger to me last night than it ever has because of being reminded.
Chapter 3: How did Roman Reigns address the Bloodline's legacy?
We might have been reminded of it in the past. I remember at WrestleMania knowing Rock had the big family tree thing up there. But it didn't resonate with me like it resonated last night. Hearing Roman mention Afa and Sika and Yokozuna and Rikishi, you know, the credibility of an Afa and Sika, the credibility of a Yokozuna.
And then it gets a little lighthearted when he talks about Rikishi, you know, about shaking his ass and entertaining the people. And you think about it and you go, Rikishi's as important as anybody else. Just because he wasn't a Samoan who was doing what Afa and Chika, and at one time Rikishi was doing that back in the day.
But it's like the Samoan family has run the gamut in the WWE of being at every level and the be all and end it all. And what you're watching right now is the modern day bloodline. And then when he says, Jacob, one day when your son is tagging with my son and they continue it on, it's like wild.
It brings it all together and shows you just how much this Samoan dynasty, this Samoan bloodline, this Anoa'i family has meant to WWE, to Vince McMahon Sr., to Vince McMahon Jr., to the current ownership with TKO and creative with Triple H and yada, yada. And obviously, now he didn't mention The Rock. but The Rock is in there.
He didn't mention, you know, like Snooker, but kind of Snooker is pseudo in there. So much of this family throughout the years, going back to when we were kids and before. I'm surprised you didn't mention Peter Maivia.
That was the one name that did puzzle me because that's the foundation of everything that comes after is Peter Maivia. But we've heard that name many times, whether it was coming from The Rock or whether it was coming from Roman Reigns. I think just mentioning some of those names... was important last night to kind of start the narrative.
But what I really liked what they did last night is what they did with Jacob Fatu. Jacob Fatu is a major player. If you didn't think so, go back and watch that opening segment from last night, and then what happened after that segment last night. I love that Roman.
Listen, Jimmy and Jey Uso, when it comes to Jacob Fatu, is like, hey, this whole time as they were trying to bring him in, to make him, not make him feel, but maybe even force him at times, that you're a part of this family. You're a part of our bloodline. You need to acknowledge Roman Reigns. But all that resistance made him more important in the eyes of Roman Reigns.
Like he said, I don't want somebody that's just going to fall into line. If this is going to be my right-hand man, I need somebody that's going to truly be a heater for me. I need somebody that's going to be by my side when things get tough. And I need somebody that's unhinged. I need somebody that, all right, maybe nobody can control this guy, but only one person, and that's me.

Chapter 4: What role does Jacob Fatu play in the Bloodline storyline?
Although I would prefer to see that one-two punch at SummerSlam.
And that's still a possibility. That's still on the table. But I got to tell you, if they went that way where Brock interferes and... I'm just going to say Jey Uso defeats Javon Evans and Jey Uso goes on to the finals. I love the compelling story of where's Jey going to go? Does Jey choose Cody or does Jey choose Roman?
Because it seems like, all right, he would go against Cody, win that championship in the bloodline, have all the titles. But I could see now Roman has now definitively chosen Jacob Fatu over the Usos, where Jey Uso's like, you know what, Roman? I'm going to prove myself to you. I'm going to challenge you at SummerSlam for your championship. I mean, that's pretty damn good.
Like, that's not a bad story going into SummerSlam at all.
The one-two punch with Oba is all eggs in one basket. Which is never really the smart thing to do. But man, if there was ever a guy to do it with, it would be Oba. Agreed. But slow and steady wins the race. Let's play it safe. Let's keep it good. I can see Brock costing him the championship. I mean, the King of the Ring. So now we get Brock versus Oba. And we also get Jay versus Cody or Roman.
Now, what do we do? How do we keep Oba strong? Wins the Royal Rumble. How do we keep him strong? Goes on to Mania and Saudi becomes World Heavyweight Champion.
And that's fine. There's nothing wrong with that. Now, on the other side, because we only have a couple of minutes.
My suggestion is shock and awe. Go.
I get it. Now, on the other side, and we just have a couple of minutes, we did not see this coming, and that's Raquel Rodriguez losing to EO Sky. EO Sky is now going on to the finals. That was the one match I thought I was pretty sure about was that Raquel was, because it's just storyline-wise, it makes sense for the judgment day. But now we have EO Sky in the finals.
