And when he started to name off all these names, I'm thinking to myself, oh man, what a future we have for the rest of this year.
And then about that time, Cody Rhodes' music hit. Now, we all know that Punk was trying his best to stay away from that because he and Cody Rhodes are really good friends. And we saw what happens when you fight your friends with Cody and Sammy. Nobody wants to really fight their friend. But Cody came out and he said in his promo that, man, this has been a long time coming, but for whatever reason, I thought that a match of this magnitude would be at WrestleMania. And he made the reference to the last time that they were in a situation where it looked like they were gonna go head to head. Except on the other side of the coin, Cody had the black eye. And CM Punk did not. And now you fast forward and you flip it and that's what you got.
But going along with that, Cody also said that I don't know when. And then Punk, I mean, without any thought process, without any considering who's in line for it, Punk said when. When? Say less. And that match was made right then. And Nick Aldis was able to expand on that situation.
