Let's start our first, brother, with this. You know, I think that Triple H and the WWE. It's kind of biting their time till WrestleMania. Because the road to WrestleMania, I mean, we just went through the Royal Rumble. It's going to take some weeks here to kind of build up. But They let us know that Roman Reigns and CM Punk's heating up and that Drew McIntyre and Cody Rose heating up. But along the way, while they're letting you know what the main events could be, they're going back to an old playbook. Triple H is going back to the old playbook. You know what that playbook is, Justin Lavard? That is a battle for wrestling supremacy. And WWE. And that is who's the better brand, Raw or SmackDown? You want to try to keep your ratings up, your interest up?
Jonathan Hood 1:01
You just can't say just watch Netflix and uh we got the other show over here, or hey, just watch USA Network, uh, Monday night. You can just watch the clips on social. I like the idea that while you're on the road to WrestleMania. Both champions and four guys like Cody Rhodes and CM Punk and Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre letting you know that we have the better brand. And along with that, uh, this uh back and forth on the mic, that resonated with me a lot this week, which keeps my interest.
Justin LaBar 1:31
Yeah, they're definitely um you're right. That playbook of brand supremacy is certainly um that that that play sheet's being called right now. Uh it's something that they you know, they they manufactured their own internal competition way back, you know, twenty five years ago when WCW and E CW both went away in a matter of months. So that was their that was their way to try to keep it spicy. Uh but they are doing that right now and I agree that Mania's a long way away. I mean i again it's it's like the third week of April. And here we are in the first you know, coming out of the first week of February. I mean, it's a long ways to go. you know, to the point of you know, I I kind of struggle with, you know, we w we saw Roman and CM Punk, which we'll talk about, have this, you know,
Justin LaBar 2:19
Epic. No pun intended raw just interaction with each other on the mic. And part of me is like Maybe that's the last time I need to see them both on the same ring at Thomania. Maybe just you you got you got uh t t twelve, thirteen years of video history between the two of them. Roll me out a bunch of video packages between now and then. I don't know how much I need to see because, you know, if you try to roll them out uh together again a bunch of times to fill the uh fill the road to mania, I I just I just don't know what else there is to to do or say 'cause there's a long way to go. So I I agree. I like the I like the brand supremacy. I like the let's uh let's let let's tell let's tell you why we're the bigger main event.
Justin LaBar 3:00
Let's tell you why we're the bigger world title. I like that.
Jonathan Hood 3:03
I mean, this is what it is right now because I'm used to The WWE letting us know what the main event could be or getting close to it. Maybe like by in March, right around like uh the road to the final four in the college basketball. They're doing it right now. And I just want to know as we flip through the pages of Raw and SmackDown, how they keep us entertained. We got the elimination chamber at the end of the month. You got that. Um, is there a Sari Nights main event between now and WrestleMania? I don't I don't know. I think there is, yes. Okay, so you need to have some things to be able to let the fans know that hey, don't forget about this event. We're shooting for this event. And so those that won't be in WrestleMania, you can watch some of the contenders or some of the young talent be able to develop because after WrestleMania, boom, you should be able to see some of these young this young talent or new talent be able to blossom in May, June, July going into SummerSlam.
