What preview and show updates does the host give at the start?
Hi there, Campfire listeners. John Ballantyne here. Just a quick update on where we're at with the production of upcoming episodes. I think we've got some really thrilling tales on tap, but it will be a couple of months before the next one is ready. Currently, there are three new scripts in various stages of production, the first of which is titled Winter's Bite. It's a story that I originally came up with, oh, so many years ago, And it's very cool to finally see it come to fruition. It stars Graham Rowett and Alison Cossett. And gosh, these guys are really good. I can't wait for you to hear how they bring this frigid werewolf tale to life. Occasionally, listeners ask what they can do to help the show, and I'd like to encourage you to subscribe to the podcast, follow us on social media if you're so inclined, and perhaps share the horror, spread the dread with other folks.
We're always trying to welcome new Campfire listeners into the fold. Speaking of which, as the summer heats up, we're turning up the chills and spotlighting some other horror podcasts that you might enjoy checking out. The first on our slate is Jeff Schmidt's amazing, dark, and delicious Ominous Thrill. Now, I'm a fan, like many. Jeff's series, well, it's just ear candy if you love a hi-fi audio experience. Sometimes I'll even fire up the old Pioneer receiver in the Serwin Vegas speakers and allow these shows to really rock my socks off. At least until my wife tells me to turn it down. But the storytelling, well, it's just as effective on earbuds. And like Campfire Radio Theater, Ominous Thrill is a full cast audio production.
It's audio cinema with just amazing voice performers bringing these creepy tales to what I like to call full audio technicolor. So you're going to hear the first part of a three-part story called The Chant, released last year. You can go on over to ominousthrill.com to listen to the concluding two chapters. And, of course, you can also find Jeff's phenomenal anthology on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and all the usual podcast places. I'm signing off now, stepping back into the shadows. Your turn to dive in. Stay safe, throw an extra log on the campfire, and enjoy the audio terrors.
Listen up, thrillers. A quick note. Tonight's devious audio delight contains adult content and language, including graphic violence.
Carl, please stop! Stop! Let's talk about this! We can talk about this! Let us go! Let us go! Just tell me what you want! Stop! Stop it! Please stop! Stop! Okay? Is that what you want?

You could pretend to be impressed. You know what a place like this costs in LA?
You get big houses here because there's no place to go.
Give it a chance, Ryan. There's a downtown area with stuff.
Can't wait.
What the hell did you pack in here? Oh, Aria, can you take that to the kitchen through there? Thanks. Sure, Mom. This is nice though, right?
You said I'd get a bigger room.
Yeah, upstairs. Go pick one.
Yeah?
Yeah, go. Except the one in the front, that's mine. Whatever. That kitchen is bigger than my apartment. Wanna move in? Maybe when I'm ready to disappear. Shit. Sorry, I didn't mean- I know, it's fine.
Why is the host recommending Ominous Thrill and which episode is featured?
Thanks for helping get us settled. Yeah, of course. You OK? Headaches. I'm fine. It's nice to see you. You too. And Ryan, he's so. Graduates in June. If we can stay. I think this will be good. It was almost impossible to find. That's the idea. I don't think I could do it. Whatever it takes to keep him safe. Yeah. Just make sure he knows it's not his fault. It's not his fault. No, I know, but Ryan needs to hear that from you. If I could even get two minutes. Yeah. Kids. You act all grown up. I'll start asking for grandkids. No. Hard pass. Does Scott agree? Oh. This is about you and Ryan. I care about you, too.
I'll fill you in. Holy shit, mom. Ryan Andrew Languid. Sorry, you need to see this. What? A secret room. Gotta see, come on.
