A lot of reaction on the Dunbar Lumber text inbox, 650-650. And people, when it comes to the draft lottery, Johnny Bubla, just take the best player available. And ultimately, that's where the Canucks are at, right? Like, you know...
When you look at what they need, they still need a lot. And as much as, yes, positional importance does matter, but if there's a clear talent, just take the clear talent.
Chapter 2: What technology improvements are needed in the NHL?
If you feel like it's a D-man wherever you're picking, take the D-man. You still have to add so much to this roster that you can't get too caught up in it. So I still believe in that. It's boring, but that's just the reality of where things are at.
If that player is that much of a separating prospect. Yeah. If it's close and you got three guys all kind of at the same grade and you're like, hey, you know what, we can... risk this and collect some draft picks along the way. That's the play. But if you're sitting there at three and Verhoff's clearly better to you, just pick the guy.
Yeah.
Just pick the guy at that stage.
No, I'm there with you. Let's go to the Able Auctions hotline and welcome in our next guest. It is Don Taylor, one half of Donnie and Dolly on Check TV, a presentation of Bassant Motors.

Chapter 3: Who are the potential candidates for the Canucks' general manager position?
Its spring cleaning season at Bassant Motors gets special low interest rates from 4.99% plus instant auto loan approvals and more. More info at BassantMotors.com. What's happening, Donnie? How you doing, man?
Very good. Very good. Beautiful weekend. And other than the hay fever going around, everything's good.
Still. You're struggling here.
You know what? I don't know if I said this last time, but when I was a kid, I used to go for shots every two weeks. That's how bad I was. Oh, really? Wow.
Chapter 4: Does the new Canucks GM need to have BC connections?
Yeah, yeah. It was pretty serious. Oh, my goodness. No, all I got to miss is half a day of school.
Yeah, half a day. Yeah. That's the upside. It's always the positive upside. Did you enjoy the playoff hockey? I mean, I thought the Habs and Bolts series has been fantastic. And we were treated to a lot of drama last night between the Ducks and the Edmonton Oilers as well.
Well, with the Habs and the Lightning, if I would have paid, let's say, $500 for a ticket... to go to that game, I could have left after the opening, after what they did with Serge Savard and the anthem, but there's so, the two anthems, which is so much feeling and the keyboards. My God, it was just, just, you know, I was almost crying. It was just so emotional.
Chapter 5: What challenges are the Vancouver Whitecaps currently facing?
I don't know why, you know, like, but, but it was just like, it was just so well done. It was like a, it was like a great Broadway show. And the way they do things there, everything's just so simple. Like when Ken Dryden passed away and all they did was, you know, a dark building with a spotlight on the net with his mask on top of the net.
Just things like they're just so good at putting on a show. And then that's on top of having just a wonderful hockey team. It really is special. There's just so much emotion in that building. And you can't tell me that doesn't have an effect on the entertainment value.
No, it looks like, look, we know. It's a very lively playoff building. And to your point, they hit so many of the correct notes. Wherever, right? And I always think of the flame to the center of the ice and all these things. No, they're just spectacular.
Chapter 6: What is the significance of the Whitecaps' recent statement on relocation?
Yeah, they really are. And it just looks like, it seems like the building is itself alive. Like it's breathing as one. And it's just really, really special. I haven't seen a game there. I don't know if you guys have. I've seen one at the Forum, but not at the Bell Center. I've been outside it.
I mean, even if you go to Montreal and you tour around and the statues, you know, I always find statues kind of creepy, but the ones they have are unbelievable. They look so good and, you know, spot on resemblance wise. And they've All these plaques. And again, they have a huge advantage because of the success going way back when with the franchise.
But they just do everything very simply and just do it right. And it's a really special place.
Chapter 7: How have past Vancouver sports teams influenced the current situation?
It's a bucket list thing. Unfortunately, I haven't checked it off yet in terms of going to a game. But boy, you know, very rarely do games fail. Do buildings come, you know, but just pop out of the screen like that one does. It's really, really, really, really special, even to watch it on television.
Look, I want to talk hockey. I want to talk about GM searches. I want to talk about soccer. But you said you find statues creepy. Do you care to elaborate on that? Like gargoyles and stuff?
Yeah, like what's going on here? Needless to say, gargoyles.
Yeah.
No, because I, you know what, like I was, I was like a lot of kids growing up and, you know, I went through my freaky movie stage, you know, my brother took me to see the exorcist when I was like 11.

Chapter 8: What does the future hold for the Vancouver Whitecaps?
Oh, sure. Yeah. And, you know, and it's just like, Hey, so I just expect statues to come alive.
That statue that opens its eyes and exorcist.
Yeah. Yeah. That'll do it.
Or even like, or even in the ghostbusters, the, the, the painting that becomes like, that gave me like, that freaked me out as a kid.
Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. It's, you know, that's, so that's, it's, it's just my thing. I don't think I'm alone in it, but they do kind of, I will say this, but the two outside of Rogers arena are pretty good. The Packwood statue, the Roger, you know, they're pretty good. They're not, they're not bad, but just in general statues, not, not a fan, not a fan.
So if you guys are thinking of making one of me, I'm okay. If you don't.
All right. So you don't want to statue when you're a immortalized at some point. Do they like the Ronaldo one that did not look like Ronaldo?
Remember that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Or was it James Corden who pulled the trick on Beckham? Yeah, absolutely. That was so good.
There is something about that bronzing. You know what? You might be onto something.
