So skip the couch, catch every hit, every goal, every save, every playoff beard. This is how you watch playoff hockey. Colorado is playing tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights. That's a game you can listen to right here on Sports in the 650. We'll join it in progress as soon as our show ends coming up at six o'clock. What's happening, Bick? Big day. Yeah, man. Conference finals start, man.
Huge. Conference finals. The Habs are in action tomorrow. Only four teams remaining. And the conference finals are like my favorite time of the playoffs. The first round's great because there's so many games going on. But it's the heavies that go head-to-head. The final four. And I'm geeked up to watch both these series. And I just want to see good hockey. Like, I...
I'm not saying I'm on the Habs bandwagon, but I would be, I'd say I'm definitely rooting for the Habs against the Carolina Hurricanes. And of the remaining teams, I'd rather see the Habs win than any other team. So I'm more pro Habs, but I'm not rooting for the Habs, if that makes sense.
Yeah, I always do the exercise, and I think it's a common exercise across all sports. It's like you look at the final four, like who's not going to make it back kind of thing.
And you look at the four, it's like I think Montreal's got as good a staying power, maybe not as good as Colorado's, but if you're kind of doing a draft there, it's like Colorado-Montreal as far as staying power to consistently be here because there's the high-end talent there. You know, Vegas, is there this last moment?
Carolina, we've got a lot of questions about them in the playoffs, although right now, 8-0, obviously. But... I kind of just look at this like I'm kind of with you. I'm not cheering for the Habs, but on the bandwagon, I've actually probably watched more playoff games with Habs fans this stretch here. Really? You have Habs fans friends or just being at the bar? Well, I do have Habs fans friends.

Chapter 2: How do the Sedins influence the Canucks' management structure?
You have to empower people and be aligned throughout your organization. And if you want people to work hard and be dedicated and be passionate, you have to give them a little bit of power. You have to give them a little bit of voice.
Yeah. I think when... This franchise here recently had a little bit of success. I think you saw maybe a little bit of that. And then as to your point, when it starts to deteriorate and personality conflict, egos take over, that consolidating of power, you see how quickly it can fall apart. It takes a lot to build it all up.
If things fall apart so easy. It's like trust. You build trust with somebody. It only takes one thing to throw it all off, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But to that point of destruction is easier than construction, it fell off here real fast. And you just see how quickly the finger pointing and the leaks and everything starts happening. And it's easy from day one or day, what is this, day six now for Daniel and Henrik and Ryan. Like right now, it's all good. But how long can you hold on to that feeling bond and that alignment.
But I think for these guys, it's a unique spot to be able to hold on to that.
I think for the Sedins, yes. The rest of the organization, at some point, individuals, if your back's against the wall and you feel like your livelihood's at stake, there's going to be a level of self-preservation. And I think that's natural in any line of work, not just in the front office. And that's why it's so important to have
people be aligned and also be in a position where you feel that there's commitment to the organization. And it's hard to be committed to something if you're left on the outside. How would you feel if you're working in an organization and you have a relatively nice title, but you never get listened to? You have no power and your ideas don't go anywhere.

Chapter 3: What challenges has Trevor Linden highlighted regarding alignment in the organization?
And is the situation you don't let him out of the building kind of thing?
Pretty much. And I'm not saying that the Canucks have denied permission. And I'm not saying teams have maybe asked for official permission to speak. But I do think teams have at least contacted about like, hey, what are you guys doing with Manny?
Have the dynamics changed since the announcement, though? Was this a more pre-Ryan Johnson confirmed or a post-Ryan Johnson confirmed?
I think pre-Ryan Johnson, I don't think a lot was happening in that regard because I think it was pretty clear that Canucks focus was on the GM side of things. But even I think recently, I would be surprised if somebody hasn't at least had a combo. Sometimes you don't ask for permission. You're just saying, what are you guys thinking here?
And it's like, hey, we're trying to sort things out very much. And I think that's why there is a sense around the league that the Canucks are going to ultimately hire Manny and that nobody's going to be asking for permission unless they think the Canucks will truly grant permission. And now maybe somebody did ask over the course of the last day or so and the Canucks denied it.
But the Canucks right now, I think, are very focused on working things out with Manny. And if for whatever reason that falls apart, I think we'll hear more about some potential candidates. And then if that happens, our big topic is going to be, what do you do with Caleb Malhotra third overall? No, we don't have time to flesh that out here today. Yeah.
But we can have some fun because we're going to get to the third wheel. Because the third wheel is our draft lottery. We did a draft lottery simulator. Now we're just doing a draft simulator for the third overall pick. Yeah. We don't know if Manny is going to be the coach or not, but maybe today, Kelema Holtra is going to be a Canuck.
Yeah, we've been doing this for a handful of attempts so far with the big news. We've had to take a little bit of a break here. We should place bets on it every day. Yeah. Okay, so who do you think is going to be today? I'm going to say Stenberg. I should say it's also a weighted wheel.
Yeah.
