Carolina drought and wild fires [Ep. 470]

09 Nov 2023

Description

A lack of rain, combined with low humidity, is increasing the fire danger across the Carolinas. Most of North Carolina is experiencing dry and drought-like conditions. As the Poplar Drive Fire in Henderson County continues to burn, thirty counts in NC have a burn ban against outdoor fires. SC is also facing dry conditions and an increased fire danger. Duke Energy is asking everyone to voluntarily conserve water as they face decreasing water-levels in rivers and lakes. Plus, record-breaking warmth returns as high temperatures climb back into the 80s.
