Chapter 1: What are the latest surprising events in reality television?
Hello, my friend, and welcome to Catch Up with Louise McSharry. This is the podcast where I do my best to keep you caught up with what's going on in the world. On Monday, we talk news. On Wednesday, it's entertainment. And on Friday, at the moment, it's reality television. And guys, I don't know what is going on, like actually fully what is going on.
Ever since I started doing this Friday episode, the world of reality television has gone bananas, like things that you could never predict are happening. This week, we have Michelle from the Valley apparently dating Dr. Dre. Did you see this? Michelle from the Valley, who we have been watching the downfall of her relationship with her ex-husband, Jesse. I actually really like Michelle.
I think she seems really sweet. But yeah, she's photographed hand in hand with Dr. Dre this week, which is really funny. And one thing that I learned this week is that apparently Dr. Dre is also Sheena from Vanderpump Rules' Hall Pass. Why is Dr. Dre so involved in the Bravo Cinematic Universe?
Yeah, basically, they were photographed holding hands, leaving Nobu in Malibu after having a dinner date last Saturday, April 25th. Apparently, she's his type. Like, okay? She's 37, he's 61. I mean, do you, I guess. And as if that wasn't, like, surprising enough, who else did we see photographed together this week? Only Giselle Bryant and Angelina Jolie. That's right.
So this one makes a little bit more sense, but I mean, still highly unlikely. Essentially, their daughters are in the same sorority, apparently, at college. And so they had a brunch where the mothers were there. And then there's this photograph of Angelina Jolie and Sahara, her daughter, and Giselle and her daughter Angel posing together together.

Chapter 2: How did William Murray become a fan of the Housewives?
Alpha Kappa Alpha's new Lambda Omega chapter. Wild. Apparently at the event, Sahara took the microphone and showed love to her mother, calling her a superhero and the most selfless, loving and understanding woman. I mean, this is the thing, motherhood. We're all just moms at the end of the day, right? So... Why not? Why shouldn't Giselle and Angelina be there in a photograph together?
It's just so very unexpected. Elsewhere, obviously, there's loads more chaos going on. The Amanda West fallout continues. But then there was this really like genuinely dark story about West's family that came out this week. I kind of almost feel uncomfortable mentioning it in this episode because obviously nothing in this episode is that serious.
And we like, you know, have a laugh and I certainly am a lot edgier in this podcast because people are never going to listen to it and it's not real life. And I mean, it's kind of real life, but it's not really real. But yeah, there was a really dark story about Wes Wilson's cousin being charged with allegedly murdering their grandmother, which is obviously horrendous, but it just feels like.
so much is happening. The most unexpected things are happening. You have to wonder how West is doing as a human being. Like we all obviously can get kind of cartoon annoyed with him and genuinely annoyed with him via his behavior with women and the TV show and all the rest.
Chapter 3: What unexpected celebrity connections are discussed?
But like, that's, it's different to this kind of thing. And, you know, to already be at the center of lots of people's disapproval and rage, and then to have something like this happen in your family, it's, it's gotta be really hard. So I do genuinely feel for him as a human being. Although the other side of that is that apparently he's on back on Raya this week.
That's what I saw reports of that he's updated his photographs on Raya and his Raya is active.
Yeah.
Who bloody knows? Yeah, it's reality TV chaos. The people of reality television are going mad. Jesse Solomon's on tour, of course, which I just find so funny. And I don't want to be like, I don't want to slag Jesse off too much because like good for him. He's always loved singing and he's trying to get a music career going. And he's really put the work in.
Like, my God, that man has been getting anyone he can to make a TikTok with his song. But I do just wonder who's going to see him on this tour. I don't know, but his shows are sold out. He's doing a 16-date tour of America, and he has already performed and done two sold-out shows in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. He has a show tonight, as I'm recording in Charleston.
He's in Nashville, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, West Hollywood, San Francisco, Denver, Kansas City, Chicago, Ferndale, Michigan, Toronto, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and New York.

Chapter 4: Why is Dr. Dre involved in the Bravo Cinematic Universe?
And... Good for you, Jesse, I guess. Like, I would not be buying a ticket to go and see that. I have not been moved by Jesse's music. But look, whatever floats your boat. Kyle Cook has been posting some interesting stuff on Instagram this week. At times, he seemed very annoyed by what's going on.
At times, he's been quite soft and nostalgic about, you know, his friendships that he had with the guys in the house. He said at one stage, you know, that they'd had a good thing going. Um... And I do really feel for him. It's got to be really sad to lose the kind of lads buzz that they had in the house on top of obviously the damage that's been done to his relationship with Amanda.
But one little piece of information that he shared was that the name of the boys group chat was cream team. which I could have done without. I just could have done without knowing that, you know? Anyway, yeah, it's madness out there. It's absolutely madness. Oh my God. And I didn't even mention the Summer House audio leaks, obviously, which is complete chaos.
You know this, you've listened to them. I'm sure that you have. I'm not going to play them here because I, just in case I ever get the opportunity to interview Andy Cohen, I don't want to be
burning any bridges because he is absolutely raging at the fact that someone leaked audio from the summer house reunion taping they have they did a big investigation they apparently found out who it was apparently a bravo fan was integral to figuring out who it was it wasn't a cast member it was audio that was recorded in a kind of edit suite or a kind of
director's booth, basically, there'd be a room as you're filming TV, there's a room with all the controls in it. And you there is audio, you get a direct audio feed from the whatever you're filming. And there would have been a few people in there. So presumably one of them recorded it on their phone and then shared it.
There are rumors online that the Bravo fan who helped with the investigation is Jennifer Lawrence that has not been kind of corroborated or announced officially it would be very funny but Andy did say he's going to share more about the Bravo fan which would be very interesting um but yeah the audio leaks are interesting um I mean, Amanda is just coming across so badly.
She doesn't seem to understand at all why what she's done is so hurtful and damaging. And it's just beyond me. I mean, I know Andy is really annoyed, but if anything, it's just really quite my appetite for what's coming. I can't wait to see the reunion. Lindsay Hubbard was on Watch What Happens Live this week and Bailey, and they were saying it's a really juicy one. Honestly, I want four hours.
I want five hours. I want every single second that they filmed this.

Chapter 5: What dark stories are unfolding in the reality TV world?
And I think, I don't think, maybe Rachel and Steven. I don't know about anyone else. I think Alyssa might have a big panic at the end and not commit. I think that David is up for it. I think that Chris and Sam are obviously gone. I think that Dani and Beck are done for. And I think that Gia and Scott are also done for. We'll see if my predictions are correct.
Now, though, the rest of this episode is heavily focused on the Real Housewives. So if you don't watch the Real Housewives, I am sorry about that. But I was really keen to chat to William Murray, who you may know from his podcast, A Simpler Life with James and William. And you'll hear me and William chatting about James from the outset because we're talking about James Cavanaugh.
He's a good pal of mine. And that's how I learned James.

was New Jersey I don't know why but I just knew that there was a Real Housewives of New Jersey and I remember watching a couple of episodes of it I remember this what are they called this because I don't watch I don't actually don't watch Real Housewives of New Jersey at all but I remember that was the first one I watched and then I quickly moved on to something else but what were those sisters called it was a Dina or oh Dina and Caroline Caroline yes yeah
And she was kind of like the older tough one.
Yeah.
And didn't she, didn't she, wasn't she like, didn't she like allege that Brandi Glanville like sexually assaulted her or something?

Yeah. with her own Kenya Moore hair care yes hair care oh my god like amazing yeah the antics and I think I think that's where like obviously that's so that's when a season is has lost it's like self-awareness or not not lack of self-awareness but people like Kenya know how to deliver. And I think if you're, when you do lose that and you will, it just happens.

acting to some extent yeah and at least let me watch something entertaining yeah yeah I think you're right I and I think that yeah it can the self-awareness is a problem when it's too obvious some people do it some people because because there's a lot of conversation about kind of housewives starting to produce and you can see them kind of trying to produce produce the desperation of a housewife self-producing when they their neck might be on the line yeah they've got a divorce to pay for all of that like it's
There is a magic to that as well. Like I do, you know.
But some of them can do it and it's undetectable and you don't even realize they're doing it.
It's very Black Mirror.
Yeah, it is very Black Mirror. It is.
It's performing monkey. Like it's very, it's crazy.
The divorces are interesting because I've heard a conversation around, you know, it's quite, quite frequently you would see a woman start on housewives and then short, you can see that the marriage isn't working in season one. Like it's very clear. And season two, she comes back and she's announcing a separation or a divorce.

Chapter 8: How do cultural differences affect perceptions of reality TV?
But they are really good. I'm starting to get sick of Heather.

Yeah. I'm starting to get sick of Whitney. I think it might be time for them to go. But then I was thinking about this earlier on. It's like funny with Real Housewives of Salt Lake City because like it's that thing where it's like, wait, am I going to get rid of the people just because I don't really like them anymore? But actually they're crucial to the show. It's like that Lisa Rinna thing.

You know, I was, like, with the rest of them, baying for Lisa Rinna's blood. Get her off. She's evil. And now I miss her. Of, like, you know, thinking about, like, housewives who've been on who I would, like, like to see back. I think, like, Lisa Rinna is up there again.
I'm, like... maybe she needs to come back yeah i think that they'd like her to come back to be honest lisa has a book um which i've been listening to an audio book a new audio book she's written books before obviously like the art of the blowjob or something i think is in one of them um but her book is very much about housewives and her telling of her exit from housewives is really interesting
Because she just basically says her mom died. And obviously, we all saw Lois on the show. Yeah. And her mom died. And she basically had to be back to work on Housewives pretty much immediately. They wouldn't give her any time. And she said she came back bitter and angry. And she's like, and she was grieving. And she's like, yeah, you know, she did things behaved in ways that she's not proud of.
But like, it was of the time. And she also was like, I was always a bitch. She was like, she's like, actually looking back, I don't even think I was that much worse than I was previously. But she's like, but I wasn't in a great headspace. And I don't think they gave me enough space for that. And I thought it was interesting when she was on Watch What Happens Live there not long ago.
you know, Andy said, I don't know if you saw this clip, but Andy basically said, look, I read your book. And he didn't say this, but the message was like, I'd kind of forgotten what a good friend to me you were, how great you were at my baby shower. And like, you know, you and I have shared a closeness and I realized that we caused you a lot of hurt. And he clearly felt bad about that.
