Leaders and leadership in uncertain times. A little different to the usual episodes but one useful (I hope) to all you leaders out there. How are you finding the current environment and world? What does it mean to be a leader in current times? I am with John Holmes, Director of Frontline Training Solutions. John is a trainer and has worked with companies across Europe as well some of the large institutions including Central Banks, Regulators, NATO, and the UN. John runs an International Leadership & Management Skills programme working with leaders across industries and institutions. I got the opportunity to talk about leadership and leaders in our current and uncertain times. What challenges leaders are facing and what are some of the things they can do to navigate the uncertainties. One thing which sticks out for me from our conversation was when John said, “as a leader it isn’t about people trusting you, it’s if you make them feel safe”! A perspective I support. I mention documentary “Stress – Portrait of a Killer” with Robert Sapolsky which is worth watching. You can find here on YouTube: https://youtu.be/cdW0-ilOeXY Grab a coffee and listen in.
