Chapter 1: What cultural significance does Steve Waugh hold in Australia?
Chat Turn Looks 3 is recorded on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation and we pay our respects to them along with our respects to the traditional owners of the land from wherever you are listening. Okay, I've been dying to see you because I want to ask you about something that all I've seen is clips on socials and I've got questions.
I remember you'd watched season one of Last One Laughing, which is a British show. Yeah. Have you watched season two? I have. Okay, because I have seen some cracking clips of it involving Diane Morgan.
Who's otherwise known as Philomena Kunk.
Philomena Kunk. And an older man whose name I don't know.
Chapter 2: What is the premise of the show 'Last One Laughing'?
Oh, Bob.
Bob, yeah.
God, he's hilarious. He's would I lie to you? He's kind of would I lie to you champion. Right. Jeremy's going to be so cross I can't remember his name. But anyway. a series of very funny British comedians, many of whom you'll know and they show.
Really famous ones actually.
Super famous ones. David Tennant.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, a million famous British comedians. And the gag is that they're all.
Not David Tennant. No. We are the worst for names. It's terrible. Yeah. Oh, you know.
Yeah, Jonathan, no, Mitchell, Mitchell, David Mitchell.

Chapter 3: How do comedians avoid laughing in 'Last One Laughing'?
It's his turn to do his little show. And... And essentially it's a series of booby traps. And the funny thing is that they're concentrating so much on not laughing and They kind of manage in the really funny bits but what kills them is just the tiny little eyebrow rays or particularly, I mean, Mitchell is an absolute trained killer. Like, I mean, he's absurd.
So you can just bring people down easily and unexpectedly. Yep. Yeah, right. So the bits that have really intrigued me have been watching ā they've been posting Diane Morgan versus Bob, whatever his name is. And so he'll just sidle up next to her on the couch and he'll start, he'll ask her some questions or start telling an anecdote.
They all fear him because Bob is random.
She's fascinating because she often gives not a hint of being anywhere near breaking and I guess she's been well trained by doing the Philomena Cunk stuff because she's had to maintain a straight face all the time in that. But there's been a couple of times where he's started off on something. There's bits where he's been making up songs about her. Yes, yeah.
And she just has to basically get up suddenly and walk away and that seems to be her tactic for dealing with him. She'll look completely stony-faced but she'll suddenly just stand and walk away from him.
And some of them have got tactics like yawning or kind of going... I mean, yeah, it's very funny. And we watched it... with the kids and it was one of those series where we were like, oh, is the next one out yet?
Oh, right.
That's always the test, isn't it? If you know what day a show drops then, you know.
So my main question for you is given that I've seen obviously some killer clips on social media, is there anything to be gained by watching the whole show?

Chapter 4: What are the comedic tactics used by contestants in 'Last One Laughing'?
Oh, yeah. Big dog.
Big dog, yeah, that's right. And no one else would really buy his theory and he would get quite worked up over it.
Yeah.
where he's sitting out in the back and it's revealed that Jonathan Ross is a traitor. You literally see his head almost explode. He is just, so, yeah, seeing the reactions of them was just, that was a great idea to film that. Yeah. It really added a lot to my enjoyment of the show.
Chapter 5: What insights does Leigh Sales share about her interview with Steve Waugh?
Oh, my, you're a traitor, tragic. Okay, what else have you got for me? I've got a list of things to tell you about. I'm excited. Yes. So I, I... have been watching a show on SBS called Riot Women. I've been watching two shows on SBS in the last week.
There's some good stuff on SBS.
Yeah, there always is. But these are two new series. One of them is called Riot Women and it is about a group of angry perimenopausal women, it's a British show, who are ā
are doing a charity thing for their school fundraiser or whatever and they decide to put together a band and they call themselves Riot Women and it is about their process of getting together and making a band and it is just extremely funny and a little bit poignant and great performances and And if you're having a little perimenopausal flash moment, I would recommend it.
I'm laughing because as soon as you said girls band, it made me think of Girls 5 Ever, which made me think, of course, that I haven't said to you for quite a while. What are you waiting? Five.
She's here all night. Try the veal.
Look on your face every time I say, what are you waiting for? It's like kind of like just like pained sort of, oh, yes, pained politeness.
I mean I love a good laugh but, like, Jesus, you're really thrashing that beyond its capacities.
And that's because look how pleased. It's just so stupid. Like it's one of those bits of comedy that's just so stupid that I can't help but laugh my ass off at it. I'm just picturing. Like Ryan Reynolds and the cat.

Chapter 6: What themes are explored in the show 'Deadloch'?
I was just picturing the writer's room for Girls 5 Ever where they're just like, is anyone going to find that funny? And then they'll have like one person who's done the research and they all turn to the big screen and it flashes up a picture of you and they go ā This is our target audience for this dumb.
The whole humour of that show really appealed to me. You watched it, didn't you? Yeah, I loved it. Did you love it? Yeah, I loved it. Oh, okay. I was just thinking maybe you didn't find it funny.
No, lots of it was funny.
Just not that particular bit? No, I mean that is funny. Was that the first time you heard it? Yes. Just not every 28 times ever after that I've said it to you.
Also, they did a better job of it than you.
Which is what you'd expect. Oh, wow. Now it's getting personal. That's their actual job. Books, books, books, books. I read some books. And you said you watch two things on SBS, right? Women and ā Oh, shit.
God, this is why they pay the big bucks. The other one is called The Audacity.
Yeah.
And it's a kind of tech bro billionaire kind of ā satire um yes oh yeah that's right for yeah yeah so it's like um set in san francisco and the main character is this sort of super anxious just idiot um tech bro who's about to sort of

Chapter 7: What are the highlights of the book 'Say Nothing' by Patrick Radden Keefe?
It's Jonathan Livingston Seagull.
I'll put it in the notes. So it's got very sharp writing. I'm really enjoying it. And I'm quite enjoying this kind of model that's this narrative device that's evolved. And they are the two shows that I have been watching on SBS.
I also, when you were talking, I was thinking how much I love the word tech bro. Yeah, I love it too. And I was thinking how did that come about? So I quickly just looked it up on AI while you were talking. Oh, God, don't do that.
You'll go blind.
And I was thinking because ā I couldn't remember when I was watching Silicon Valley ever hearing them use the term tech bro. Yeah. And so it's, I thought, I wonder how recent it is. It emerged in the early to mid 2010s. Yeah. Okay. That sounds about right. 10 years. And it tends to be used basically as a critique of someone, not as like a term of self-identification. Yeah.
So it's usually like when you said.
It's a bit pejorative.
Yeah, exactly. But I do like it because I feel like when someone says, oh, there was a table of tech bros, I have such a good visual. Yep, you know exactly what they look like. Yeah, it's a great term.
What about broligarch? How do you feel about that one? Oligarch. Broligarch. Oh, I've never heard that before.
