What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
I actually think it's almost the opposite personality type to a journalist because you – God, yes. Yeah, because journalists love telling stories and we love passing on an interesting story and you have to have the exact opposite tendency in that kind of work.
Plus you love to just go to the pub and go, I got the splash in the paper. Look at my gun. I won't beat everybody. Like it's – Absolutely not like that at all.
Chat Turn Looks 3 is recorded on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation and we pay our respects to them along with our respects to the traditional owners of the land from wherever you are listening. Annabelle Crabb, I'm very excited. And why is that? Because we've got our N More live recording on Friday night this week.
I know. I am rehearsing by being in an anonymous hotel room just to warm up and just ease into that rock and roll lifestyle that we always enjoy.
I'm going to start my vocal exercises shortly. Me, my, my, my, me, me, me, my.
Red leather, yellow leather, red leather, yellow leather.
I think if any chatters want to come along, we're only doing one show at the Edinburgh Theatre this year. We usually do two. And we actually don't have a Sydney show booked for next year. So if you want to come along, this might be if you're in Sydney, if you're a Sydney chatter, your last opportunity to see us for a while. So just jump online, Google Chat10.com. And more theatre. I think there's still some tickets available. Just because we're tiring of the thug life, you know. I mean, we didn't choose it. I can't share a dressing room with this woman any longer.
So, yeah. But, yes, it's a firm date. There's only one night. So come on. Friday night, August the 7th it is.
So jump online, get yourself a ticket, and we'll hope to see you there. And also I'm excited because I've been in a bit of a TV slump this year, but I'm actually watching something at the moment I'm really enjoying, which is – It's called Ride or Die.
What upcoming live show are Annabel and Leigh promoting and when is it?
It stars that amazing British actress, Hannah Waddingham, who was the, she's a very tall blonde woman who was in Ted Lasso. She was the club manager.
Oh, right.
Yeah, okay. That amazing Amazonian looking woman. Yep. And also the great American actress, Octavia Spencer. Oh, my God, I love her. Yeah, and so it's a kind of it's a spy thriller but that pokes a bit of fun at itself. So the premise is it's set in London. Hannah is this elite, you know, sort of secret agent, assassin actually she is. Oh, fantastic. And her best friend is Octavia Spencer and they met through random circumstances years and years earlier and they're just like absolute bosom buddies.
Okay, is she also an assassin?
Yeah.
What's that?
Is she also an assassin?
No, she's just a regular lady who happens to be married to a politician. Oh, okay. But does she know that her bestie is an assassin? If you'd let me explain the premise, all of these questions will be answered. She does not know that her bestie is an assassin, but I'm not giving away any spoilers. In Episode 1, this becomes apparent to her, and so then it's a bit of a, like, what the hell, how have you been my best friend and you've been a secret assassin all this time and you haven't actually told me. And so it kind of goes from there and then Octavia Spencer gets drawn into this situation that Hannah is working on. It's just really good fun. They are leaning into lots of things I think our audience would like, which is kind of things about being a middle-aged woman and it's just a joy.
I'm really thoroughly enjoying it.
Okay. Because I mean, not to lapse back into one of your endless fields of obsession, but this idea about spies and how they manage their relationships, I just find so interesting. I'm I don't know if I remember mentioning it to – maybe I did, but like years and years and years ago I interviewed the late ASIO Secretary General or whatever the big boss name title is, David Irvine. Such an interesting dude. And we were talking – I was asking him about just recruiting spies and – I always just assumed you're looking for sort of A-type personalities with a lot of charisma.
