And Lola Pettigrew plays Delores Price, who is one of the sisters and is so magnetic. I mean, we're talking about an extraordinary actor here. And They are the title, the principal role, Catherine, who is running around murdering dudes. And they are dudes who have been, it emerges, involved in this sort of crime circle that also you gradually realise encompasses cops. There is a cop who is investigating these murders. The actor is Emmy Rossum and this cop, she is a little bit banged up herself because she has broken up, been in a relationship with another cop who knocked her around and then she has sort of fallen out of favour in the police force because he is...
favoured and is part of the cop family and she's viewed with a bit of suspicion because she dumped him and she's sort of shut up about the physical abuse but she's viewed with suspicion anyway and she falls in with another very senior female cop who also is a bit on the outer and has a drinking problem, has been sort of tucked away and she has got no shits left to give and That cop is played by Quincy Tyler Bernstein. So three incredible actors all kind of interacting in what turns out to be a hugely tense and really nicely made drama about police corruption, corruption, corruption, and chicks who take things into their own hands. Is it American or what is it? And so in the end of the series, towards the end, there is a speech or a soliloquy essentially by this sort of senior chick cop who has finally got this senior guy who is corrupt by the shortened curlies
And she delivers this diatribe about every petty humiliation he's ever visited upon her. She's a black woman cop. Jokes that he used to make about her being the token, this, that or the other. It is basically like the misogyny speech, but delivered by a female cop. It is amazing comedy. minute or two of television. You've got to watch most of it to get to that, but it is worth
