We hopped in our time machine this week to read 2006’s A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole. When a Scottish Lykae (who just happens to be a king) finally scents his fated mate while being held prisoner by a bunch of vampires, he quite literally gnaws his way to freedom. Except that when he finds her on the streets of Paris, he realizes that she, too, is a vampire. Turn out, she’s only half-vampire. Her other half is valkyrie. And she’s a bada$$.
