Last year, one tenth or four thousand of the employees insured and six thousand six hundred of their dependents were hospitalized. Of the employees insured, three thousand underwent surgical operations. The value of their group insurance protection provided at such low cost is proved by the fact that the Equitable Society paid more than seven hundred thousand dollars in total benefits to these families in a single year.
