Coaching for Inclusion and Belonging

In the first episode of 2024 of Coaching With Mastery & Elegance With Tijen Genco, we welcome ACC coach Rob Minkes to discuss diversity, inclusion, and belonging. We discussed feeling welcome rather than just included to create a safer space for individuals to open up and talked about how important it is to be aware of intentional and unintentional exclusion. Rob highlighted how neurobiology can limit individuals, leading to misunderstandings and conflicts. He talked about having the courage to participate by entering into dialogues and discussions to understand oneself and others fully. In Tijen’s characteristic way, she discusses the need to sit in the heart and cultivate the qualities of the heart because, ultimately, we can only welcome others to the extent that we welcome our whole selves.
