In this episode with collage artist Jonathan Conda, we got really deep and quick. We discussed the power of history and the nuance of storytelling along with how history is incredibly limited as a form of truth telling. We talked about bias and how that plays into what histories we remember and which ones we forget. We also had a deep discussion around identity politics , social media, and why art is a necessary tool to penetrate down to the human spirit. We discussed Jonathans creative process and how he sources the imagery in his incredible collage work. We even talk about AI, technology, and how that is impacting art making. --------------------- From Jonathan's Website: Hi, my name is Jonathan Conda. I create future nostalgia (ok, you might say it’s just collage art) as The Quiet Fight. My work, while remaining politically neutral, seeks to challenge our feelings around culture, history and global citizenship. I try to elevate those who are ignored, forgotten or dehumanized. There’s beauty in all of us, if we’re willing to see it. Within my ~8 year professional art practice, I’ve created published editorial works (Noema Magazine, Atlas Obscura), podcast art (Pineapple St. Studios: The 11th, Radiotopia: Oprahdemics) and album artwork ( Ben Harper, “We Need to Talk About It”, Jaimi Faulkner, “Allen Keys & Broken Bits” ). I’ve collaborated with renown photographer Giles Duley and have been interviewed on Talking Pictures.I currently reside in Gilbert, AZ, USA but, thanks to the internet, enjoy a global clientele. https://www.instagram.com/the_quiet_fight/ https://www.thequietfight.com/ See More from Martin Benson *To stay up on releases and content surrounding the show check out my instagram *To contribute to the creation of this show, along with access to other exclusive content, consider joining my Patreon!
