How to Receive the Holy Spirit | Couples Pursuit Bible Study

The Bible uses many different terms to describe the experience of being "saved.".  John 3:3 refers to it as being "born again," Matthew 18:3 refers to it as "conversion," Mark 16:16 refers to it as "believing and baptism," Colossians 2:13 refers to it as "forgiving" of all trespasses, Romans 6:23 refers to it as "eternal life," and Romans 8:9 refers to it as "the Spirit of Christ." Though a variety of terms are used, they all basically mean the same thing. In the same manner, the experience that occurs after salvation is referred to as "the baptism with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 1:5); "being filled with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:4); "the Holy Spirit falling on" someone (Acts 11:15), and "receiving the Holy Spirit" (Acts 19:2). Both terms refer to receiving the Holy Spirit, which is the same thing.
