yeah it's highly rated it's on like creepypasta.com i've heard people talk about it i believe this along with a few of jared's other works has been adapted into these little like anthology horror books that he's put together jared's actually a pretty prolific writer and if you're in the creepypasta space you probably know him uh when i was younger he did a story called the arkansas sleep experiment um which despite the name has nothing to do with the russian sleep experiment It was a pretty big deal, like, you know, several years ago and like creepypasta culture. And since then, Jared's actually come out with multiple publishings. He has one called the machine stories from the hidden webpage to sunburn. So that's the one that of course includes the story we're talking about today. And then another one called glycemia, a hidden webpage story.
So he's got a ton of works that deal with like technology. And if I remember the Arkansas sleep experiment was about dreams or something like that, or maybe I'm misremembering it. But yeah, he's pretty well known in like the no sleep community and stuff like that. And also while looking him up, I found his LinkedIn, which completely unrelated to his writing. But I have to say he is a rather attractive man. Oh, he's a looker. Yes, he is a looker.

I feel like I'm in this state of, I feel like I'm off like a coke bender. I feel mentally not totally there. I'm coming down with a bit of the sickies, but I just want you all to know that I'm here and I'm going to get through this story. And so help me God, if it's not good, let me tell you, we recorded something yet. We weren't even supposed to be recording today. We recorded yesterday and it crashed out. Which, you know, I don't know if it's just me. I've been crashing out way more lately.
I need to get to the spot of being able to skirt that. All right. But to be fair, Isaiah kind of crashed out with me, too.
Well, I was getting there. We recorded the story for, I think, two hours. And I eventually, like, midway through, I stopped Hunter from reading a quote. And I was like, Hunter, if we post this, this guy's going to get bullied. We have to.

That becomes a big thing that we're not... I mean, like, the objective of this show, first off... I want to say this, too, because I... You know, I do take a look at what our community says and does and stuff. And I think a big thing I want to, I guess, reiterate is that... We joke around about online stories written by people that put it out for free. Like, this is not, like... Whenever we criticize things or we analyze things or we're making fun of stuff or whatever, I wouldn't really read too much into how horrible our criticism of it is.
We are talking about an act of goodwill someone did for free for others' enjoyment. It's not that serious. And ultimately, at the end of the day, a critic will never... be like as valuable as the story that they are criticizing, regardless of how awful it is. Right.
No. And I think we're both, I think we're both just very passionate about like, you know, storytelling, especially horror stories. So I think in a way we get really excited about ideas and whenever things don't pan out, I think that it just creates discussion. So that's a big thing is don't want to go out and be like, this is the worst thing ever. We don't want to see that from our fans either.
