And I felt like this was the perfect episode to do for the one-year anniversary of Charlie Kirk's death. My boss for... seven years. We're talking about the line between biblical discernment and conspiracy obsession. When does asking hard questions become an endless search for secret knowledge that the Bible explicitly warns against? And what happens when the content that we consume starts changing our peace, our marriages, and even our faith? What do you want Christians to remember about Charlie that's really gotten lost in all of the mess that has happened in the years since?
Well, my story with discovering Charlie's work was really after his death. So before Charlie's horrible assassination, I was aware of him, but it was just kind of a different world. I was in the apologetics world. He was kind of more in the political, theological space. So I hadn't seen many of his, you know, stand in whatever they call those things at the college campuses where he would
be on the mic. Yeah, like prove me wrong and all that. Pick up the mic.
Exactly. I hadn't seen a lot of that. And so, of course, after his death, all of those clips are going viral. And I was so impressed. And I was just like, man, here we are in our apologetics world trying to reach culture. But here's this guy going right into the belly of the beast, the college campus. and doing such a phenomenal job, better than most apologists I know, answering all of the claims and the things that are really on people's minds, especially at that age. And I was just so impressed. And then seeing just this revival that seemed to be breaking out. I had people contact me from girls I went to high school with who were saying, hey, I'm really inspired to follow Jesus now. Do you know what Bible I should get?
And they were asking questions like that. And so I've been very inspired by that. And it's been sad for me to see that kind of get hijacked into this other thing. But I just remember how incredibly smart, articulate, knowledgeable Charlie was, where he could just pull that information right up, but also so compassionate and loving to the people that he was talking to.
