What is the opening “Wharfie Time” intro and why are the hosts excited?
They said you were done, Fayo. They said Wharfie time's about to come to an end. And you said, hey, this thing's just getting started. Hey Geelong, see you later. You got in the way of an unstoppable force. Wharfie Time is never dead. Wharfie Time says, guess what? Premiership time is back on. See ya later. Welcome back. Reaction Monday. Prelim Week is here. Whoever you are and have you listened to us, thanks for tuning in and doing footy with us on this 14th of September. Big week. Some call it bigger than grand final week. You can feel it. We're here. Semi-final week sucked. Um one game was great, the other was an absolute stinker.
I feel like semi final week is always just like the the two best teams who put in the ship performance in week one. They get the two teams who are expected to lose and then they just smoke the fuck out of them.
Yep, pretty much. That's what happened. Um even though Frio Jelong was a very good game, but great weekend of sport, obviously NFL was in town. Oh yeah, it was. Everyone had a good time, I assume.
It was a lot of fun. Yeah.
Lot of messages coming through. I don't think you guys wanted to make me feel bad because there was a lot of something in the air. I get it. It was cool. It felt good for Byron. You guys are very nice. You didn't try to sell it as it was the best thing ever, but I could clearly feel like it was the best thing ever.
I did tell the boys, uh, Goz is going to be so jealous, so don't talk to him about it. And that's why when I walked upstairs and we saw you earlier, I didn't say a shit about it.
No, I appreciate it guys. There's a lot of thank yous for the tickets, um, and the experience, but you guys own that so what under you you deserve that all obviously. Um but yeah, thank you for not trying to sell it to me like it was beginning around final day, which it felt like it was.
Yep.
Is that are we right here? I'm gonna try and flesh this out. Was it bigger than Grand Final Day?
I might have said to everyone I saw on that day that it's the best day I've ever had in my life.
Whoa. I genuinely think it could have been the the biggest spectacle that Melbourne will ever see. Bigger than Grand Final Day? Oh really? It was yeah, the city was f humming.
Okay, so the NFL comes in for just a week and just takes over.
Yeah. I think the Forty Niners have won over some some love from the fans too. Yeah. I think it's it's probably the best for Australian NFL fans that the Forty Niners won because the Rams flew in the week uh the day before. Mm. Niners were kissing babies, shaking hands, drinking coffee and having a good time. I think teams that come here are gonna have to spend the whole week here, which means more fan engagement, more handshakes, more kissing babies.
Yeah, or more coffee, bunnings. I think you're right though. I think the the game plan and the tactic of flying in a day before the game definitely didn't work. Dude is the most arrogant tactic of all time. So shit.
They're like, bitch, we got Miles Garrett all win.
Even looked exhausted. Yeah. Miles Garrett looked knackered. Now he's also out now. He would have been injured maybe, but he looked so they all looked so tired. Yeah. Like even Stafford just no energy behind his throes.
They just like they were just all off. I think their like cognitive function was just so dead because they, you know, had those like sleep pockets of in their brain that were asleep.
Yeah, no, it wasn't good. Um well in the forty nines they dominated as well. So um I mean it was just so cool. The anthems were great. Yeah.
Why are Dan and the crew talking about buying Clarko’s uniform items on Vinny’s auction?
The whole build up pregame was unbelievable. I think something about just excited. I don't know about you guys, but when you know you're going to a pub or an event, the build up is normally the worst bit. And as you get close, you get more excited, more excited, more excited. Anytime something starts at ten thirty in the morning, it's Christmas straight away. You wake up and you just start drinking. Yeah.
And off you go. It's actually hilarious because for three quarters Australia was doing so well and then there was a bit of a blowout in the game.
