All right, guys, welcome into another Rewind episode of Disgraceland. This one is on Amy Winehouse. It was originally released back on May 14th, 2019. And I remember the day I recorded this episode. It was the day after, I can't recall if it was the day after the Oscars or the day after the Grammys. But just in this weird world that we live in, coincidentally, one of my friends, Anthony Rosamondo, had just won in either an Oscar or a Grammy, he won both, for the song Shallow, which he co-wrote with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper and Andrew Wyatt from Mike Snow. And I remember just being really happy for him and completely blown away. And I knew that Anthony had a connection because Anthony was briefly in the Libertines.
He replaced Pete Daugherty after that whole thing went down and he was friends with carl and he was part of the scene that gave birth to amy winehouse so i happily went back into the script before i recorded it and i included a little shout out for anthony which i thought would be fun for the listeners so you'll hear that little nugget in this episode plus what you'll also hear in this episode is a lot about that that actual uk kind of what we would call now indie sleaze but but it wasn't really called that then, scene where Amy Winehouse came out of.
