Few players have been taken to the hearts of Watford fans as quickly or so intensely as Tommy Mooney. He was kind enough to give us an entire evening. In Part 1 we discuss his early football days in the North East, how when Graham Taylor released him from Aston Villa he had a grin from ear to ear, his time at Scarborough and Southend including a bust up with a manager (but definitely not a Mayor!) before his transfer to Watford - his thoughts on the characters at the club, and we go through the first promotion year 97/98 of the second GT era including an interesting tactical innovation during a testimonial game. Plus Tommy talks us through how to sign a mural and explains how he was name checked by a certain Sir Elton John at a concert. Part 2 on the way soon will pick up at the start of 98/99 season.
