29 Oct 2020

Description

Having children is one of the most exciting things that can happen in your life. From the joy of seeing their first smile to the nerve-racking day they start to drive a car, parenting can be a wonderful ride. But when the relationship between parents goes south, the joy of parenting can turn into the challenge of a lifetime. Before you know it, the once loving couple can find themselves in the middle of a custody battle and fights over drop off and pick up. The underlying feeling of resentment over what happened in the relationship is often a driving factor in why parents can’t get along. The child becomes the real victim as they witness their mom and dad duke it out. Co-parenting is suppose to be an arrangement in which both parents continue to jointly participate in their children's upbringing and activities. In order for parents to coparent they have to communicate, comprise, and put past hurts to the side. On today’s show, we are going to take a look at what needs to happen practically and emotionally to get good at co-parenting.Mentioned during the show/resources:Dr. Kirleen's BackStory Master Class https://neely-counseling-center-plc.ck.page/2f26127c0bPsychology Today https://www.psychologytoday.com/Drop the BS Podcast Page www.dropthebspodcast.com
