Chapter 1: What insights does Theresa Caputo share about living as a medium?
These days, I'm all about quality over quantity, and that goes for my closet and my house. If something isn't well-made and versatile, it's just not worth it to me. That's why I love Quince. The fabrics feel elevated, the cuts are thoughtful, and the pricing actually makes sense.
They use premium materials like European linen, silk, and organic cotton, and everything is designed to be simple, wearable, and last season after season. They also work directly with ethical factories and cut out the middleman, so you're not paying for a brand name, just really good quality pieces.
The stitching holds up, the fabric keeps their shape, and these are things you reach for over and over. I've been getting their bedding and towels for my house and they feel so good. Super soft, really breathable, and they still look nice after washing, which I love. It just makes everything feel more put together without spending a fortune.
Stop waiting to build the wardrobe and honestly, the home you actually want. You don't need a ton of options. You just need pieces that work. It's about the woman behind the gift, the anxiety, the faith, the doubt, the love, and the cost of being open to everyone else's pain. Please welcome Teresa Caputo. Aw, thank you.
It's so great to see you.
It is so good to see you again. Ever since we met, when I sat down, I don't know if we're allowed to talk about it yet, but I sat down on your podcast with you. And ever since then, I just felt like such a connection to you because you just are such a bright light in this world.

Chapter 2: How did Theresa overcome anxiety related to her gift?
Because I feel like you are just always on the go 24 seven. It's like, do you ever have time to stop and like catch a breath and like process emotions? Because reading people every day and having spirits talk to you every day is. Do you ever just have time to just breathe and be?
I'm starting to learn to incorporate that into my schedule because it is very hard. I always say I make what I do look very easy, and it's the hardest thing. But I don't know how to be anything else but me. So it's hard to find that balance. But now that I'm a grandma, I really work really hard. I mean, it's always been the center of my touring.
You know, I've been touring for 15 years to 14 years. So it's always like we're home for the holidays. I try to make it home for every make sure we're home for every milestone in the family, birthdays and things like that. So.
Yeah. It's got to, I don't know how you have so much energy because I, I know we have the next two weeks are about to be crazy and I'm already exhausted. Yeah. Watching you though. I'm like, okay, I can do it. If Teresa can do it, I can do it.
I swear. I literally was saying this to this morning to Jenny. I was like, I had a dream that I was complaining to her that I was just so exhausted. because the, you know, we flew in, we lost two hours this morning. So it was just like, I couldn't peel myself out of bed this morning. I was like, what?
And you're doing this on your day off too. That hurt my heart when I heard that. Cause I know how special day offs are, you know, especially in our business. So for you to be here on your day off means so much.
Well, I appreciate it. I mean, I feel like it's, it's an honor and I do, I feel that connection with you and I love how you respect not only me, but my gift. So I want to thank you for that.
Now you are, I was thinking yesterday when I was writing down on your notes, I was like, why couldn't I have a woman like this to grow up with? You know, like I just feel like, you know, we'll get into that a little bit later when we talk about your family.
But I just feel like if I could have had like a role model such as yourself that like my mom was so scared of her gifts that she became a drug addict. And the rest of my family, they were also scared of their gifts. Is there other people in your lineage that have this gift also that you were able to lean on?

Chapter 3: What role does family play in Theresa's journey as a medium?
So whether if my mom was scared.
That was my next question. Did they ever try to take you to counselors or therapy or anything like that? Or did they just accept it and roll with it?
In the beginning, accepted and rolled with it. And then as I got older, I did go to therapy for my anxiety. And then my mom was the one that suggested that I go see a spiritual healer because of my anxiety. So I couldn't even leave the house. That's how crippling it was. And I had just had my daughter, Victoria. And so I would attend these spiritual awareness classes.
And that was a space for me to kind of navigate my gift. And I would only open up there. Wow. So I was blocking it all. I was holding it in and that's what was causing the anxiety because souls make me feel how they died. So I would all of a sudden feel like I couldn't breathe. I would all of a sudden just start tasting blood and my mouth wouldn't be bleeding.
So all these things were happening to me and I couldn't understand it. So through this class, I was able to work through it and understand what it was that I was sensing and feeling and why I would be feeling that.
We're going to circle back to the spiritual teachings. But I just want to touch base on the fact that you lived with this from the time you were four until you had your first child.
Yeah, no, I, I, for my entire life, I've lived with this. I was almost 30.
And nothing, did you know that you were like psychic or you just thought it was just severe panic disorder?
I knew that I was sensing and feeling things that other people didn't. And I was just talking about this this morning and I think this is interesting. So like if people are thinking they don't know how to connect with their loved ones or they're not getting signs,

Chapter 4: How does Theresa prioritize self-care while working as a medium?
Um, and, and she, I'll never forget it. She looked at me, she says, well, I don't want to.
Oh,
And I said, okay. Wow. I just got goosebumps. Why would you want that dark energy around you? I don't know. I don't know.
We had a spooky situation that happened here because I have a lot of antiques in here. This is just our studio where we film.
Literally, we... Yeah, that door, that room when you first walk in, that room, I guess, I don't know, I walked in and then to the right. Yes. Yeah. I could feel energy in there. Oh, for sure.
There's energy all around here. And this is why I will not bring antiques in my house. We were filming one day and I look over, there's a Dolly Parton Ouija board in here. I love Dolly Parton.
Well, today's Dolly Parton's birthday, by the way.
That's crazy, right? Yeah. A Dolly Parton Ouija board? A Dolly Parton Ouija board. And we don't know where it came from. Someone just- That is bizarre. Placed it in here. We have no idea where it went. And I was like, get it out of here. Like, nobody even so crazy. It's so crazy.
We talked about it and like people, you know, the fans that watch the show went back and trace like when it appeared and everything like, and we still don't know, don't know where it's there. No, have no idea. Like it's the craziest thing. And that you don't, maybe not, might not want to know. No, never want to know.

Chapter 5: What misconceptions do people have about mediumship?
But I just got a text message from someone two days ago saying that I read someone in prison. And it changed his life that he said to the person, can you please reach out to Teresa and tell her that I want to thank her because I feel worthy. And he just got married. So he got out of prison and he's married and everything.
It's just, I don't really, I know what I do changes people's lives, but you can't even imagine to what level on how it changes someone's life.
Who heals the healer? Because you are a healer in a sense. You are bringing so much light to people, so much closure that most people would never have if they hadn't. Like you brought me a ton of closure, so I could only imagine you doing that times the thousands and millions of people that you have reached. Who heals the healer though?
God.
God.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, because it said it. I mean, in the beginning, I would say I would get it from the woman who helped me with my gift. And unfortunately, she has passed away. But that was in the very beginning. And then since then, it's been my faith.
Yeah.
I would be, I just, I, you're, you're, uh, you're an anomaly because I know how, like, you know, I, I'm not even on your level and I know how exhausted I get picking up people's energies. I could not imagine what you do. Like, and you don't get like, do you ever get physically ill from reading so many people or do you, are you constantly protecting yourself?

Chapter 6: How has Theresa's gift impacted her relationships?
Like I always say this, my family and friends get screwed out of readings all the time because am I getting, this is what people also don't understand. If I know something about someone, it's harder for me to read them because when I get the information, it's like, oh, did I know that about them? Or is this my own memory that I'm recalling?
So when I read, I can't have any personal thoughts, feelings, or emotions. They have to strictly be the emotions of the souls of the departed or the person that I'm reading. So when I take, I take great pride when I say, if I read someone that's in the public eye and I'm like, I don't know anything about them.
Okay, let me ask you something. Do you actually like your money? Because these big wireless companies act like that bill should be a personality trait. That's why I'm into Mint Mobile. So if you're tired of overpaying just because that's what you've always done, Mint Mobile is a really easy switch. I switched from a big carrier and the service fees feel the same. You are definitely the real deal. I will say I was a little skeptical when I went into our podcast, not that I was skeptical because I totally believe in it, but you know, people nowadays, you never know the stuff that you have. I can't wait until you guys can actually watch this podcast with us.
The stuff that you were saying down to the fact that my mom was hiding behind people because I had told, told her to not appear in this reading. And she was like, you were like, your mom's like hiding behind people. And I'm like, it's because I told her not to be a step up in this reading. And it was just, there was so many other things too, that you pulled out. Like it was crazy.

Chapter 7: What challenges does Theresa face in her daily life as a medium?
So that's a Testament again of who you are as a person. And then also your team that you have around you. So you have to be proud. I want you to start practicing on saying I'm proud of myself. I'm proud of myself.
There you go. I'm proud of myself.
There you go, sister. So your life changed overnight with long Island medium. Um, when the show exploded, what part of your life disappeared first? Because that show, I mean, you were everywhere and you still are.
I would say being home or all that, you know, just being home and also the freedom of just going out, you know, that that's hard. You know, you go out and I love people. I will stop and I will talk to people, you know, but people also have to understand if you're out, you're doing errands, you're doing things, you can't do things like that for yourself.
So I think that was hard because I am such a people person and I just love to be out there.
Yeah.
So that was just harder than just being home.
I think people, you know, when people hear stuff like this, they're always like, well, you chose this life or like, you know, you, you know what you signed up for. And half the time we didn't know what we signed up for.
I didn't. Right.

Chapter 8: How does Theresa handle the emotional weight of her work?
I just love a poof. I think I look better with my hair bigger.
I love it. I tell when she's doing my hair, I'm like, tease it.
I want better.
I want to look like I just got banged type hair. Like when I get my hair done.
We were just talking about that. You love that tussled hair, right? And I was just saying tussled hair. And then somebody said, Oh, like you, like you just, yeah. Grapevines sink alike. Yeah. And I was like, I didn't think of it like that. Yeah. No, that's exactly what it is. I love it. I love that.
It's amazing. What do you think the biggest myth about mediums is?
Uh, I think that it's not real. Um, and I, I only speak for myself. Um, I feel that there are people out there that do have abilities, um, Um, and I would say if someone is helping someone live their life in a positive way, then I support them, you know? Um, and I can't explain what I do. It just, it just happens. So when people, I'm like, I don't know, this is just me.
Yeah.
So do you have friends that are mediums too? I do. I do. I have one really good friend. Um, and she, um, I kind of helped her along or encouraged her to, to do this cause she had, she was, but then she stopped. Um, so she's one of my best friends.
