Excess Returns

The Average Investor's Guide to the Current Bear Market

01 Jul 2022

Description

It would be an understatement to say there has been a lot going on in the market this year. Rising inflation has changed the game for economic policy makers and caused significant turmoil in the markets, especially in the growth space. In this episode, we try to put everything that is going on in the markets in context. We discuss the economic and Federal Reserve policies that got us to where we are today, what is happening right now, and the factors that will determine where we go from here. We also look at the valuation of the market and the spreads between value and growth and how they have changed in this bear market.  We hope you enjoy the discussion.  ABOUT THE PODCAST Excess Returns is an investing podcast hosted by Jack Forehand (@practicalquant) and Justin Carbonneau (@jjcarbonneau), partners at Validea.
