How does Claire cope with the grief of losing her niece?

Claire Harrison 2:17
Hi. How are you? Good, all good. So we've obviously, we have met before. Yes. You were at one of my retreat days and we got a chance to sit down and have a chat and it was, it went really well. So we said we'd always come on and chat properly here together because I suppose your story is there's so much loss and it's, I suppose, not traditional in a way. It's quite a different story. Yeah.

What impact did the event have on Claire's family dynamics?

Claire Harrison 2:44
So thank you for being here, first of all, for sitting down across from me. So we are going to talk about the loss of your niece, Lucy. So Lucy was much more than a niece to you. I know you were extremely close. So could you maybe tell me about Lucy and maybe, you know, your relationship? Yeah, so Lucy was nine years younger than me. So, yeah, there was, I suppose, I thought it was a small age gap. I was probably so old to her, like she probably, I thought I was a cool auntie, but I don't know if I actually was. But I was eight whenever I was told I was going to be an auntie. And I felt like the coolest kid in the world because I was the only person that I knew that was going to have a niece or nephew at that age.

What legal proceedings followed the tragic incident involving Lucy?

Claire Harrison 3:30
And two days before my ninth birthday, Lucy arrived on September 25th. And I suppose when Lucy was born, like I was a kind of I was a slightly older child and she was a baby. But as as time went on. You know, then I suppose then I was a teenager and she was a child. But then we kind of moved into the adult stage. And, you know, we were both adults together in recent years. And we were always really, really close. I mean, I was so proud to be an auntie and I was so proud to have her. And everybody that knew me knew Lucy. I remember my friend Colin saying that.

How does Claire navigate the challenges of social media following Lucy's death?

Claire Harrison 4:10
And the minute I met you, Clare, I knew about Lucy, like she was just somebody I would talk about all the time. I was so proud. I used to like when I look back through my Instagram, I've just always consistently posted pictures of Lucy the whole way through my timeline. And how beautiful is my niece and how, you know, I was just I just adored her. And we we were just really, really close. particularly when she was a teenager, I think she felt she could come to me about things because there wasn't a huge age gap, you know, and she felt like she, you know, there were things that she could relate to with me and things like that.
