How did OOTD’s founders first get started and what sparked the idea?
Hello and welcome back to Fashion and Founders the Podcast. My name is Victoria Smith, and this week I'm joined by co-founder Corey and creative director Nick of OOTD. If you don't know who is behind OOTD, I'm almost certain you've seen their content. Getting inspiration of what girls are wearing, New York, Paris, London, Copenhagen, all over the world. They have created a really well-known, viral And consistent content strategy and dive into how they've done that and how they've grown to nearly a million followers in less than two years. How they work with brands, building a community, and becoming one of the biggest global content platforms. If you want to be in the content space in social media, or really you just are a business that needs to have content, which in 2026, I think.
Is all of us, you will take something away from this episode. There is so much value, there is so much information, and they're hiring a lot. They're building out internal tech, so they're also part of the fashion tech space in a really cool way on the content side. And they're hiring contractors globally to help with video production. We talk about what they look for. I'll add these to the drawboard, but this would be such a cool Company to work for. And if you're able to leave a reading, review, or follow the show, it really helps the show grow and continue to get really cool guests like Corey and Nick. Thank you guys so much for listening. Let's get into it. I also just got to be part of an OTD campaign, which is such a pinch me moment.
And to be able to see how they work was so cool. It was for a Calvin Klein campaign emulating some of CBK's outfits with obviously so much press going on around Love Story right now. And I've been loving the show. So this was also just like so cool and fun for me. And I'm like, can I add this to my resume? Like, I'm famous now. Joking, but it is such a cool team. I'm so excited to share this episode. And I'm also so thankful I got to use Glam Squad prior to film. This because I just feel so much more confident when my hair is done. And Glam Squad makes it so easy. You can get a professional blowout at your home. There's no commuting. You don't have to worry about rain. It was pouring rain when I got my hair done.
So I was like, thank God I don't have to go walk home. And Glam Squad has given Fashion Founders podcast listeners $20 off with code in all caps fashion and founders. I have only had such amazing experiences with them, and I think you'll love it too. And you guys, Rent the Runway. My code is now 60% off. It's the biggest discount that they have. And they just got thousands of new styles for spring. There's so much to choose from. There's a lot of like Ralph Lauren pieces that I've been renting. And I talk about Rent the Runway a lot because it truly has been a game changer for me. I love being able to switch. switch up my styles without spending a ton of money. And you can now get thousands of dollars worth of designer clothes each month for under $50.
You can still use code in all caps RTRX VSMIF50. I look forward to my shipment every month and I think you'll love it too. Hi guys. Hi. What's up? I am so excited to have you guys here. And before we jump into OOTD and everything you're doing now, I'd love to know prior to doing this, how you guys got here and what kind of led you to creating one of the biggest outfit media platforms internationally.
Go for it.
Do you want it? Well, I did not have a background in fashion traditionally before this. I studied and worked in interior design. And then Corey and I had met in one of those very candid New York kind of ways. I had been captured for one of our first viral videos, and my friends were sending it to me, and I took one of the biggest chances I think I've done. I've never been one to really like be able to put myself out there. But I said to myself, what is it gonna hurt if I just send a DM? And I think exact I mean I think what I said was, I don't really know what you're doing, but like I'm interested if you need help or something.
