What is this Mastermind episode and why are these coaching excerpts shared?

Hi, this is Peter Crone, and you're listening to another episode of Finding Freedom. This episode is a little different. I'm very excited to share with you because in this one, you get to listen to conversations directly from my mastermind, my most powerful three month offering where we go through a ton of theory of what it is to be human, to go from a different world of limitation, fear, suffering into the new world of freedom, love and possibility. These beautiful human beings have given us permission to share their vulnerabilities, their transformations. And so I hope you enjoy this very unique glimpse both into the lives of everyday humans, but also the powerful magic that happens inside of the mastermind.

Enjoy this episode of Finding Freedom. Sam, what's up, buddy? Hey, Peter. Nice to talk to you, mate. Tell me, what's going on?
Sam 0:51
Yeah, I guess about myself. I've seen your work for a while now. Kind of had an interesting time in my life. I've had, I guess you'd call it a health battle. I'm a chiropractor and I injured my own back. And it was like a four year struggle, ended up having to get surgery about five, six months ago. Since doing this course, it's been interesting because even through the recovery, trying to be really deliberate with my mindset, but I realized after the last call, I was sitting there going, oh, I was kind of putting limitations on how my recovery could be. by trying to be kind to myself and go oh it's you know if i don't get back to surfing this way or working this way it's okay yeah um but i realized that i haven't been probably opening myself up to the possibility of being successful successful with the healing you mean or successful with the healing um i had a lot of success in business but it seemed to have come from a place of trying to prove myself i always succeeded the most when someone told me that i couldn't it was a bit like a
Sam 1:43
I fuck you. Yeah. And since doing your call, it's kind of like, ah, I think that's coming from a bit of, I'm not enough. And it drove me to prove that I was enough until I fucked my own body.
Peter Crone 1:56
Yeah. And where did you learn that? Where, where did you feel that the most was that with dad or with someone else?
Sam 2:03
Um, yeah, family, probably mom and dad. I have done the best they can with what they had. Um, and aspects of when I was young was definitely super challenging. My mom was put in a pretty hectic situation. My dad wasn't, he was there, but not really there. And so my mom cut through alcohol and that was not an awesome situation to be in to the point where I have this really vivid memory of when I was 10 years old of my mom being well and truly incapacitated, not in a state to drive pretty aggressive and sitting in the back seat and being like, I don't feel, I had my younger brother with me. I was like, I don't feel safe. Like this isn't okay. And got forced to go in the car. She's swerving around the road to try and prove that she was in control, which proved that she wasn't.
Sam 2:52
And I had to sit down with her after that and be like, this is, this is not okay. Like, you know, we're not safe around you when you're like this. Um, Yeah, awesome. Super easy as a kid.
Peter Crone 3:04
No, I get it. I'm with you. I'm just listening. You're a sweetheart and I just don't want you to have to hold back, right? There's even in your language is compensation. They did the best they could. It's irrelevant. Everyone's doing the best they can. None of you need the disclaimer. Okay, that should be really clear by now. We can say it how it is with us each other. So what I hear is that shit scary, right? Like you were really scared as a kid upset. Yeah. Right. What else? So that memory, was that a one off?

How did Sam describe his injury, recovery and the limiting story of ‘not enough’?

Peter Crone 3:34
Did she didn't change? Did she not drive?
Sam 3:36
That was maybe a little bit of a tipping point. She was never violent towards me or my brother. It was all verbal, but she was towards my dad. So I saw a lot of stuff there that, again, it was pretty disruptive as a kid. And then she found yoga, she found other stuff. And then that drove her to wanting to fix some of her own shit.
