Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Camouflage isn't just for the woods. It's for looking cool. Camerado makes gear that disappears in nature but looks good at Costco. Zero tactical cringe. Camerado. C-A-M-O-R-A-D-O dot com.
All right, everyone, welcome to episode eight of Rimfire Radio. This is Drew, A.R. Drew. I apparently have the betas, so, uh, Wolfer Brimley reference, apparently. Dan will do weird stuff for a self-sufficient homestead property. Dusky, um, next to Dusky just says Snick, so I'm not sure what that's all about. And then we got Gatlab coming to us from... The hospital, I guess. I don't know.
He's got lung AIDS this week, everybody, so hopefully he's going to be okay. Sounds pretty good. How's everybody doing tonight? I'm all right. You're all right? Yeah.
How's everybody else doing? We're all okay. Conditions are improving.
Conditions are improving. All right. We'll take that. I think conditions are improving will work. Well, all right. Well, I think we should start with the Rimfire Rundown. And let's see here. Kind of starting off like we talked about last week. We're going to kind of kick these off with kind of listener-suggested topics. And I had a couple different people that have emailed us the last few weeks.
And a common theme among a few of them was Rimfire clones. So I thought we could maybe take a few minutes and talk about Rimfire clones. And I got to say, it sent me down a little bit of a rabbit hole. And I knew about most of the ones I found, but there were definitely a couple that we can talk about that I had no idea. Like, I had not seen them. I mean, everybody knows about all the AR-15.
Obviously, there's tons of them, AR-15 clones. But, you know, MP5 clones are cool. I saw somebody had an MP5-22 FRT, and that was kind of cool. What are your, what are y'all, I've got a bunch here on the screen, but which ones have y'all, have any of you ever owned? I know that, well, I don't want to leave one out. We've got the Tactical Tuna. Dusky's got a clone, 22 clone.
Tactical Tuna, present. And I guess I have a Smith & Wesson M&P 1522. I guess that counts. It's an AR clone, but what about everybody else? I mean, there's a clone of everything in there. There seems to be. The one that surprised me the most and I thought was kind of cool and would appeal to some of our more FUD brethren that I know listen.
I had seen that Keystone makes a mini Mosin-Nagant because they actually have them in stock at my local Bass Pro Shop. But what I hadn't seen and they don't have there is they have a mini 1903 Springfield replica. And I saw that for the first time today and I was thinking, that's going to be a problem. I mean... This is another gun I can buy my seven-year-old that she doesn't even shoot yet.

Chapter 2: What are Rimfire clones and why are they popular?
What was OAL?
It is 30 and three eighths inches.
Okay. So it's not, it's not tiny. It's not like a little, little mini ones.
Yep. No, like the Mosin is 33.6 inches overall. And I've shot that. And I will say it is, I mean, diminutive would be an understatement. It's so tiny and thin. It's perfect for a child. Obviously, if the liberals heard this show, they would be aghast that we are talking about guns that are perfect for children. But as we all know.
There's nothing better for a child than to teach them how to shoot a fire.
Was it Canada or Australia, one of them? It was illegal to even let children handle firearms? What does that do to generations and the traditions?
It can't be China. They still have summer camps for shooting there.
If it was Australia, they'd have an adventurous holiday weekend at the beach, evidently, once a year.
Oh, boy. I will say that was – wow.

Chapter 3: How did Gatlab's recent health issue impact the podcast?
And I was just in need of him to pull me aside and show me all that, share that with me.
I'm on their website right now. They do have some pretty cool stuff. I actually get my, uh, I get my 3d printer back tomorrow. It's been, uh, I was having some trouble with it. A friend of mine's a lot more tech savvy, but yeah, this guy's got some cool stuff. I may actually try to print some of these.
I'm going to recommend everybody else go buy their stuff, but I'm going to print some of this stuff. This looks kind of cool.
You can find files, you know, of, of what's out there, but, uh, you know, if you don't like printing or you don't have a printer or you just wanted somebody who was dedicated to it, probably has some pretty good quality and consistent and it's doing it well. Check out gungear3d.com. Thank you to Auro for not only having a great time, but sharing so much. Go ahead, sir.
They have a magazine holder basically for that GSG mag we were talking about for the pistols.
He's got some cool stuff. I think they're on the ball, man. And speaking of 10-22 mags, I learned something here because I was over looking for some extra 10-22 mags at the store, one of the big box stores, and you can never have too many. I try to pretty much pick one up. One of those things, I try to pick one up every time. I feel like this is something I knew at some point and forgot.
uh, I was up there asking the guy at the counter, he got a 10, 22 mags and no, we don't, but we have these wild, these Winchester wildcat mags. And I'm like, what do you, what do you, okay. And that's nice. I don't have a, well, okay. He's like, yeah, they work in the 10, 22. They're a little bit harder to eject. They don't come out as readily, but they work just fine. So you're showing it to me.
He took one off to the 10, 22 behind the counter. And, uh, I went ahead and bought one just to see how it worked. They were pretty much the same price. I think they were like $20 or something like that. Not a big deal. It looks like a 10-22 mag. The design is a little bit different. They got some weird over-molding going on with it. I'm not sure what's up with that.
I guess it's their style with the Wildcat. Functionally, it's a 10-22 rotary magazine. The only difference, of course, like I said, some of the overmolding, but it's got this little wheel you can turn to help load your magazine. It's almost like the rotary equivalent of the little pull tabs you get in a lot of the 10-22 mags where you can pull the follower down.

Chapter 4: What new features are included in the Savage 110 RF?
And for the front sight model, you have the side charging. I just spent like the last week nerding out on this. You got the side charging one that has a front sight built into it. And they have a top charging one, if you don't want to have it sticking out on the side, that has a cutout, again, with a front sight. So you'll have a front sight either way with that one.
Send me that later because that one I might be interested in.
It's probably what I'm going to end up doing. So my threaded barrel, I don't run a suppressor on it. I actually have a Harrington Arms comp, and it's pretty cool. It's pretty cool. And I did it partially out of my TISM. Having that slide back behind the front of the Flux Raider frame kind of...
bothered me i know i mean all the builds you see are like that but so i the with the long slide the threaded barrel and the comp it's like it's the right length it's like the compass hanging out the front of the the fluctuator and it just looked i think it looks pretty sick i'm gonna probably seracode thing and get us the tip has the tip and it's pretty sweet well guys we have gone a little over an hour which is i know we're still trying to stick close to that do we want to keep going or do you guys want to wrap it up
A little of both.
A little of both?
Okay. A little of both. A little of both? Well, I have a couple things on my topic in Centerfire and some things on Rimfire. On Rimfire, I'm really just going to kind of talk about, you know, I'm not going to say that this is happening because of us, but there have been a lot of, or at least several significant 22 Rimfire releases since the show started. Obviously, it has nothing to do with us.
They were waiting on somebody to talk about it.
There was a time they were waiting for in the place, and this is now.
