Democratic Congressman Ilhan Omar after she was sprayed with an unknown substance while she was hosting the town hall as tensions remained high after the fatal shooting of an ICU nurse during an encounter with ICE agents over the weekend.
That man was tackled to the ground and carried out, but despite the scare, Omar insisted that she would finish her remarks.

South Carolina Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace wrote on X that she was deeply disturbed by the incident, regardless of how vehemently she disagrees with Omar's rhetoric, adding no elected official should face physical attack.
