Chapter 1: Can President Trump negotiate peace in Gaza?
Can he end the war in Gaza? I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. Nobody knows better than President Trump to reach a good deal, a reasonable deal for both sides. Both sides have to give up a little bit.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt, as the meeting is about to start between the president and Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, keeps waging war against Hamas, which keeps holding Israeli hostages. The president wants to finalize a 21-point peace plan, which really centers around post-war stabilization to ensure that both sides are willing to stop fighting.
Fox's Alexandria Hoff at the White House. This 21-point plan reportedly includes a hostage prisoner exchange, a U.S.-backed Palestinian authority to temporarily govern Gaza and Israel halting future strikes in Qatar.
Off the coast of Yemen, another ship hit by what may have been another missile fired by Iran-backed Houthi militants who've been attacking ships in and around the Red Sea since Israel started waging war in Gaza. Britain's military reports today's attack set that vessel on fire. Back to President Trump.
And after that Netanyahu meeting, he's going to sit down with congressional leaders, including Democrats, trying to avert a government shutdown before tomorrow night's deadline. And Caroline Levitt tells Fox. This is a bill that keeps the government funded at the exact same levels as today, just adjusted for inflation. So there is zero good reason for the Democrats to vote against this.
Well, Democrats are pushing for provisions they say will prevent cuts to healthcare coverage for Americans. The search continues through the rubble of the burned-down church a gunman attacked in Grand Blanc, Michigan, looking for people still unaccounted for. He drove through the front door, started shooting during Sunday's services, killing at least four people and wounding eight.
This man tells Fox he's lucky he made it out alive i felt uh some shrapnel hit my left leg and then um as i'm running uh to the door um bullet grazed or went past me hit the door on the left side of me about a foot away that gunman was shot dead by police america's listening to fox news This is Ainsley Earhart. Chapter 2: What is included in the 21-point peace plan for Israel and Palestine?
President Trump is threatening even more tariffs on top of the ones he already announced last week that will take effect Wednesday on some pharmaceuticals and trucks and household items. He posted on Truth Social this morning he'll put charges on foreign-made furniture and films. President Trump says he is imposing a 100% tariff on movies made outside the United States.
In a social media post, the president says the U.S. movie-making business has been stolen by countries and in California has been particularly hard-hit. So far, the administration has not detailed how that tariff will be enacted. But in May, President Trump first suggested an import tax on foreign films, saying he was talking about the issue with Hollywood executives.
At the White House, Jared Halpern, Fox News. The president's being sued yet again by a blue state yet again. As Democrats keep resisting National Guard deployments, the newest one planned for Portland.
Oregon's Attorney General announcing the lawsuit within hours of Governor Tina Kotek receiving a memo from the Department of War informing state leaders the National Guard will be deployed to Oregon. The lawsuit argues the deployment is unlawful and unnecessary, saying Oregon communities are stable.
President Trump over the weekend said on Truth Social he was directing the Secretary of War to send troops to, quote, protect war-ravaged Portland and any other ICE facilities under siege from attack by Antifa and other domestic terrorists. The plan would deploy a total of 200 National Guard troops to the city. In Washington, Ryan Schmelz, Fox News. New York City's mayor will not be re-elected.
Eric Adams far back in the polls dropped out of the race. The frontrunner Zoran Mamdani replied with a challenge to the challenger Andrew Cuomo. You wanted Trump and your billionaire friends to help you clear the field. But don't forget, you wanted me as your opponent in the primary, too. And we beat you by 13 points.
