Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Bundle up. I'm Chris DiMeo, Fox News. More than 200 million Americans are bracing for a major winter storm starting Friday. It's targeting states from the south to the midwest to the northeast. Officials in Tennessee are warning folks to be prepared.
Chapter 2: What major weather event is affecting over 200 million Americans?
National Weather Service lead meteorologist Matt Reagan.
We are expecting the cold air to move into the region starting tomorrow. This will set the stage for Friday night when we expect precipitation to move into west Tennessee after dark and overspread middle Tennessee after daybreak on Saturday.
Ice accumulation is expected to cause mass power outages in from Texas to the Carolinas. There may be more to President Trump's push to acquire Greenland. Military officials say there are gaps in the U.S. missile detection system that could leave Greenland vulnerable to a potential attack from China or Russia.
The population of Greenland could fit into the seats of any NFL stadium. If President Trump gets his way, that number will increase with the deployment of the Golden Dome missile defense system. Today, Greenland's prime minister appeared open to it. Mr. Prime Minister, would you welcome an increased presence of U.S. forces here in Greenland?
Do you want to see the Golden Dome missile defense shield deployed here?
We are willing to discuss and do more. We need, we have a responsibility. So let's talk about it through the right channels in a respectful manner. Then I'm sure we can work something out that benefits all of us.
Trump wants to complete Ronald Reagan's goal of building a missile defense system.
That's Fox's Lucas Tomlinson reporting in Nook, Greenland. President Trump says the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. This after Canada's finance minister, Francois-Philippe Champagne, said that Ottawa doesn't plan to pay the $1 billion U.S. price tag for a permanent seat on the board. Chapter 3: What concerns are raised about President Trump's Greenland acquisition plans?
Former special counsel Jack Smith facing questions from the GOP-led House Judiciary Committee about whether partisanship played a role in his probe into then-candidate Trump. Some Republicans are also upset that Smith obtained their phone records. Here's Fox's Jessica Rosenthal.
Texas Republican Congressman Brandon Gill questioned Jack Smith's effort to obtain Republican phone records as part of Smith's investigation into January 6th, noting he got the records, including of then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy, under a nondisclosure order so phone companies couldn't notify targets of the investigation. Gill said Smith called lawmakers a flight risk.
You were using clearly false information to secure a nondisclosure order to hide from Speaker McCarthy and from the American people the fact that you were spying on his toll records.
Smith defended his decision. I had grave concerns about obstruction of justice in this investigation, specifically with regards to Donald Trump. Republicans said this violated rules protecting lawmakers engaged in legislative acts. Jessica Rosenthal, Fox News.
