U.S. troops on standby. Fox News, I'm Sue Guzman. Hundreds of U.S. soldiers reportedly being called into Minneapolis as the unrest continues to escalate between ICE agents and protesters. President Trump has threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act if local authorities don't crack down. on anti-ice agitators as we hear from Fox's Alicia Cunha.
The Trump administration is putting 1,500 active duty soldiers on standby to deploy to Minneapolis. That's where pro and anti-ice protesters have been demonstrating for weeks. The troops are from the 11th Airborne Division based in Alaska. People marched and rallied once again in sub-zero temperatures.
President Trump's threat to send in troops comes a day after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz mobilized the state's National Guard. They have been activated but not yet deployed. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem on CBS's Face the Nation. in this situation if Joe Biden hadn't allowed our open border policies to be in place and allowed up to 20 million people unvetted into this country.
