White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said that decision was made to go back after takeoff after the crew aboard Air Force One identified a minor electrical issue and out of an abundance of caution decided to turn around.
President boarded another aircraft and is now on his way to Davos to attend the World Economic Forum. Before boarding Air Force One earlier, he spoke to reporters.
This will be an interesting trip. I have no idea what's going to happen, but you are well represented.

He claims both Russia and China are making Arctic moves around this Western Hemisphere island. And of course, there's those rare earth minerals buried way beneath the ice. A deployment of troops there in recent days by NATO countries triggered the latest salvos from Trump, threatening 10% tariffs on goods from countries like the UK and France starting in February if he doesn't get what he wants.
And those get escalated to 25% later in the year. The people of Greenland, Denmark, the EU, NATO, well, they're having none of this. They say the land is not for sale or, for that matter, for conquering.
Federal prosecutors serving six grand jury subpoenas to Minnesota officials, including Governor Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry, and State Attorney General Keith Ellison. Part of an investigation into whether they obstructed ICE operations. Attorney General Pam Bondi telling Fox she wants to hold those involved accountable.

Attorney General Pam Bondi is confirming that Lindsey Halligan is resigning. Halligan's departure comes as her 120-day tenure as interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia had expired. Halligan was picked for the role by President Trump in September, only to have a judge two months later rule that the appointment was illegal.
Bondi, in a statement, slammed Democrats in blue states blocking the president's appointment of U.S. attorneys, saying the circumstances that led to this outcome are deeply misguided. Tom Rigotti, Fox News.
The man who assassinated former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday. 45-year-old Tsuya Yamagami had pleaded guilty earlier to killing Abe during an election campaign speech. And Carlos Beltran and Andrew Jones have been elected to Baseball's Hall of Fame.
