Chapter 2: What are the latest updates on Nancy Guthrie's missing person case?
still in the case of missing Nancy Guthrie. This despite several people being held overnight. The sheriff says one person detained during a traffic stop was cooperative and then later released. The same goes for several people detained at a house a few miles from Guthrie's home. Nancy, the mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since February 1st.
The FBI has increased the reward for information leading to Guthrie's recovery and or a conviction in the case to $100,000. A partial government shutdown is now affecting the Department of Homeland Security after funding lapsed amid a stalemate over proposed ICE reforms between Democrats and Republicans. Fox's Madeline Rivera has the details.
The blame game is in full swing as Democrats and Republicans remain at an impasse over DHS funding. Lawmakers are now on a previously scheduled recess. They left town without a deal in hand after Senate Democrats blocked the consideration of a spending bill earlier this week. Dems say a White House offer falls short of the changes they want to see for ICE.
And one of their biggest demands calls for DHS officers to get a judicial warrant before entering private property. So now DHS is facing a lapse in funding, marking the third time at least part of the government has shut down in less than six months. Remember, though, ICE received a significant amount of funding from the one big, beautiful bill.
Other agencies under DHS that will be affected include the TSA, the Coast Guard and FEMA. America's listening to Fox News.
