Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
No deal. I'm Chris DiMeo, Fox News. Vice President Vance says talks with Iran have ended after 21 hours without reaching an agreement.
We go back to the United States having not come to an agreement. We've made very clear what our red lines are, what things we're willing to accommodate them on and what things we're not willing to accommodate them on.
Chapter 2: What were the outcomes of the recent U.S.-Iran talks?
The vice president says the U.S. was flexible with Iran during the talks, but he says Iran is still not giving up its nuclear ambitions.
We need to see an affirmative commitment that they will not seek a nuclear weapon and they will not seek the tools that would enable them to quickly achieve a nuclear weapon.
Iran's state-run news agency said the talks began after Iranian preconditions, including a reduction in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, were met. Navy destroyers have crossed into the Strait of Hormuz to begin clearing Iranian mines.
All we do is we'll open up the Strait, even though we don't use it, because we have a lot of other countries in the world that do use it that are either afraid or weak or cheap. I don't know what it is, but we were not helped by NATO.
A ceasefire was struck earlier this week, the war in now week number seven. Meantime, Israel and Lebanon will hold talks at the White House this week.
The Lebanese president says the peace talks will happen on Tuesday. Israel's continued attacks against the Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon has threatened a ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. Iran said it would guarantee an end to its war only if Israeli strikes against Hezbollah stopped. Lebanon's health ministry says the death toll has surpassed 2,000.
