During a phone call with Minnesota's Governor Tim Walz, the President laid out several steps that state and local law enforcement could take to... more or less ease the tension between his state and the feds. The conversation comes amid reports that Greg Bovino is now moving from his role as commander-at-large for the Border Patrol back to his former post in California.
Meantime, Governor Walz called his chat with the president productive, writing this on X, the president agreed to look into reducing the number of federal agents in Minnesota.
Chapter 2: How is President Trump's administration addressing the situation in Minneapolis?
Fox's Kevin Cork, President Trump says starting today, Border Czar Tom Homan will head up ICE operations in the state and report directly to him. FBI Director Kash Patel and Fox's Hannity commenting on the Border Patrol agent-involved shooting of 37-year-old Alex Preddy, who was armed at the time he was shot and killed this weekend.
It's not smart to go out there with a fully loaded weapon. We're just saying be careful and be reasonable. Like you've outlined, if you have a right to a permit for a firearm, that's okay. But you cannot incite violence.
