We have seen video of blood drops and blood spatter across the entryway to Nancy Guthrie's home. The sheriff today would not confirm that they found blood.
Chapter 2: What are the implications of the alleged ransom notes in the investigation?
He did merely confirm that they found, as he put it, DNA. And he also said so far they only have one match for that DNA, and that is Nancy Guthrie herself. And then we have the question of these purported ransom notes. One of them... was sent to our colleagues at TMZ. Several local media outlets here are also reporting receiving these alleged ransom notes.
They include, apparently, details that the writer says are about what Nancy Guthrie was wearing, for instance, on the night that she was abducted.
Chapter 3: How is Congress addressing the funding for DHS following the government shutdown?
That sort of detail has not been made public.
The partial government shutdown is over, and now the attention turns to preventing another one in less than two weeks. Fox's Chad Pergram has more from Capitol Hill.
There is now a race to fully fund DHS before Valentine's Day. The bill includes a temporary patch for DHS that gives lawmakers time to impose reforms on ICE. However, the time frame is tough. Otherwise, DHS lacks money again. Democrats insist on no masks and no roving patrols. Otherwise, they will block funding for DHS.
But Republicans believe that Democrats want to withhold money in order to undercut DHS. Republicans are skeptical about the push for warrants.
