President had endorsed Gregory's rival, John Maples, in that race to fill a seat that's been vacant since August.
Democrats celebrating the victory is the latest sign voters are turning against President Trump and the GOP. And the National Weather Service's Weather Prediction Center warning that a heat dome that has baked the southwest, it's now moving east, could end up as one of the biggest heat waves in American history.

President Trump says any deal made in the Senate he won't be happy about, but stops short of signaling opposition to a DHS funding bill that would leave out some programs for immigration operations. We're going to take a good hard look at it. I want to support Republicans. And, you know, sometimes it's awfully hard to get votes when you have Democrats that don't want to have voter ID.
They don't want to have proof of citizenship. The agreement would also not include the Save America Act voter ID legislation the president has urged Republicans to include as part of DHS funding.
