The U.S. and Taiwan have reached a trade deal to build microchips and chip factories in the U.S. The Commerce Department says Taiwanese chip and tech companies will invest at least $250 billion in production capacity in the U.S. In exchange, the U.S. will reduce reciprocal tariffs on Taiwan from 20 to 15 percent. It will also commit to zero reciprocal tariffs on generic pharmaceuticals.
