So what type of impact can we expect? Fox's Ryan Schmelz with the details. Thousands of federal workers deemed non-essential could be furloughed in the wake of a shutdown.

Republicans and Democrats still have significant disagreements on avoiding a shutdown ahead of a midnight deadline that Democratic Senator John Fetterman hopes can be resolved.
