While the U.S. military continues to attack Iran in a days-long flare-up of fighting, War Secretary Pete Hegseth is on a new mission, trying to stop information from leaking out of the Pentagon.
Secretary Hegseth made the announcement in a video posted to social media. The Department of War and the Department of Justice have created a joint task force to identify and prosecute leakers. He continued, saying the release of sensitive information has the very real potential to cause exceptionally grave damage to our national security. Hickseth said access to that kind of information is a sacred trust, and those who break that trust will be met with the full force of the law. The announcement comes days after four New York Times reporters were subpoenaed to appear before a federal grand jury following reporting that the new Qatari-delivered Air Force One may not be as secure as the older models.
