The heavy rainfall we've been talking about, especially on the Big Island, the windward side, isolated rainfall totals in excess of twenty-five inches, and on uh eastern side of Maui, eight to twelve inches. And then across the rest of the Hawaiian Islands, four to six inches isolated totals as high as eight inches. That type of rainfall, particularly on the Big Island of Maui, could lead to life-threatening uh uh flash flooding and landslides.
Honolulu is also bracing for a lala's impact. Mayor Rich Blangiardi.
Do not take this storm lightly. So it's moving, it's moving at a good clip. We expect probably two to four inches of rain in some places, four to six inches in others, and probably in the mountainous areas eight plus. That's a lot of water. It's nowhere near what we went through at the Kona Lowe's, but it is enough under circumstances to cause flash floods.
