Chapter 1: What happened during the church attack in Grand Blanc, Michigan?
There could still be more victims in charred remains. I'm Dave Anthony. Fox News. The day after a church was attacked in Grand Blanc, Michigan near Flint. We do know that there are some that are unaccounted for. Police Chief William Rennie. So far they've found four people dead and eight injured in what the FBI calls a targeted attack by a gunman who's also dead.
Hundreds of people were inside worshiping when police say the gunman rammed his car into the front doors. Authorities say he got out of the car and started shooting before officers arrived and exchanged fire with him, killing him. Police say the gunman deliberately set the church on fire. It was engulfed in flames for a couple of hours, and unfortunately, it is a total loss.
Fox's Madeline Rivera. That attack came the morning after a man drove a boat next to a waterfront bar in Southport, North Carolina, and started shooting. Eight people were shot. Three of them are dead, and at least one is now clinging for their life. District Attorney John David, the suspected gunman was arrested. Nigel Edge is due in court today.
Tyler Robinson will also appear in court today in Utah for a hearing. He's Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin facing a murder charge. President Trump has two big meetings today at the White House. First, a sit-down with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, pushing for a ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza.
The Trump administration is proposing a 21-point peace plan to end the war in Gaza, secure the release of hostages, and set up a civilian government in Gaza. Fox's Jared Halpern. The second big Trump meeting today is with congressional leaders from both parties. Ahead of tomorrow's deadline to fund the government and prevent a shutdown.
I am glad the president has finally agreed to meet with the leadership in Congress. He canceled the meeting last week, which I think was a big mistake. Senator Amy Klobuchar tells CBS Face the Nation Democrats want to prevent cuts to health care programs. But House Speaker Mike Johnson tells Fox the Republican plan is just a simple extension during ongoing budget planning.
